This document presents the findings of a baseline survey conducted in Bangladesh to establish baseline values for indicators under USAID's Development Objective 1: Citizen Confidence in Governance Institutions Increased. A total of 4,379 respondents across 8 survey instruments provided data. Key findings include:
1) 15.6% of citizens report "very high" or "high" confidence in governance institutions on average.
2) 15.3% of citizens report engagement with at least one governance institution.
3) 81.5% of key informants express "very high" or "high" confidence in the Election Commission's capacity to conduct fair elections.
4) 41% of citizens say political parties reflect constituents'
