l RUDN University in the‘5-100’
The ‘5-100’ Project, which is aimed at increasing competitiveness of the
leading Russian universities and strengthening their positions in the inter-
national ratings, has 6 more universities joined. The universities defended
their programs in increasing competitiveness on the Project Expert Coun-
cil session chaired by Dmitry Livanov, the Minister of Education and Sci-
ence of the Russian Federation. There were 18 universities competing to
enter the ‘5-100’ Project. However, only 6 out of 18 universities displayed
high results and were chosen to join the Project. RUDN University was one of universities in the list of the
chosen ones.
l RUDN University was ranked 5-6th in the Annual National Rating
of Russian universities
RUDN University preserved its positions in the Annual National Rating
of Russian universities for 2014-2015 academic year and took 5-6 place
among 208 universities. RUDN University was also ranked 1st
in terms of the development of internation-
al activity (internalization).
l RUDN University entered the TOP-500 according to the
Round University Ranking (RUR)
Round University Ranking (RUR) analyzes the activity of more than
3,800 universities and chooses 750 best among them and introduc-
es the results of the ranking to public. According to RUR Top-500,
RUDN University ranks the 491st. In 2015, universities from 78 coun-
tries, 26 of which were Russian, entered the list.
RUDN University is in Top-200 in quality of education, out of 3,800 universities from all over the world,
and ranked 3rd
among the Russian universities, being only after the Moscow State University and the
Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
l RUDN University joined the BRICS Universities Univer-sities
League, which has united the most prestigious universities in
Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa
In October 2015, the Forum of the University Presidents of BRICS
countries took place in Beijing. Then the Forum participants dis-
cussed the major aspects of the concept of the BRICS Universities
League.The meeting resulted in a document headlined‘Beijing con-
sensus’which expressed the striving of the BRICS Universities to es-
tablish profound cooperation in the spheres of education, science and innovations. It is appealing to de-
velop higher education for the sake of progress and human development. The final stage in establishing
partnership between the universities and creation of the League is expected in future. The Forum par-
ticipants have decided to create a special Work group to work on the major aspects of the Charter of the
BRICS Universities League.

l RUDN University is ranked 3rd
in the number of registered patents and
published articles in the sphere of pharmaceutics
‘Thomson Reuters’ has summoned the results of technological innovations within
the last 10 years. Major tendencies in the global development in this sphere have
been analyzed. The analysis counted the number of registered patents and pub-
lished articles in 12 fields of study (from automobile industry to tele-communica-
tions). RUDN University is among 5 world biggest innovators in pharmaceutics according to the current
rating it is ranked the 3rd
. According to the ranking of top technological innovations within the last 10
years, RUDN University has registered 375 patents.
l RUDN University is a leader in social media network activity
Idea Logistics Agency ‘Interium’ introduced University ranking in the
efficiency of social media network activity. 88 universities were ranked in
accordance with their activity on social media networks such as Vkontakte
and Facebook as well as on the number of publications made within a
certain period of time. The 1st
place in social media network activity goes
to RUDN University with a great gap in points (more than 100 points)
between RUDN University and the university which was ranked 2nd
.
l RUDN University is a winner of the Project ‘Best
educational programs of innovative Russia’
According to the results of the 6th round of the project
‘Best educational programs of innovative Russia’, 25
programs of the RUDN University have been recognized as the best.The judgment was based upon
the expert voting, objectivity of the project can be proved by the contents of the offered programs.
All the educational programs presented within the Project have been highly recognized: 01.03.01 –

Official opening ceremony of the Annual Winter Tournament in mini-football ASSAFSTU-RUDN
University took place at the Football Club ‘Megasphera’. There were 18 RUDN University teams
from African countries participating in the tournament.
Students of the RUDN University Institute of Foreign Languages
(members of the Italian language and literature lovers club) participated
in an Internship Program organized by Istituto Italiano Language school
(Florence, Italy). The trip was aimed to upgrade the Italian language skills
and get introduced to the regions of Tuscany and Lazio. During their stay
in Italy students participated in the scientific and research conference
‘Tuscany: history, traditions, gastronomy’ and ‘Siena and its outskirts’.
Moreover, during their internship RUDN University students visited
Florence, Rome and Siena.
RUDN University team participated in the International Festival of KVN teams ‘KiViN-2015’ in
Sochi.
Memorial Day of the First Prime-Minister of Democratic Republic of Congo
was traditionally held at RUDN University. The participants laid a wreath to
the bust of the national hero, recalled his life and his fight for the freedom
and independence of his country and watched a movie dedicated to his life.
The Acting Ambassador of Congo (Republic) in Russia Ndanda Rangu Anselm
attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
Students, teaching and academic staff of the Faculty of the Russian language and general
disciplines participated in a monthly chess tournament held at the Faculty.
Inter-university conference ‘Comparative analysis of the
civil rights in the modern times’ was held at the RUDN
University Institute of Law. The participants of the
conference admitted the importance of research in the
sphere of regulatory reforms and legal proceedings, as
well the importance of existing experience in the use
of new alternative dispute resolutions. The following
matters were discussed at the conference: civil rights
regulation in antimonopoly legislation in foreign countries, concept and functions of civil
responsibility in the Roman-Germanic and Anglo-American law, comparative analysis of legal
regulations of right of patent in the RF and foreign countries, international commercial arbitration
in Peru, major tendencies in the development of arbitration proceedings in the RF, civil code of
judicial practice in Japan, heirless estate in the legislation of RF and foreign countries.
Within the frame of the International Christmas educational
readings, RUDN University organized a conference‘Spiritual
and ethical culture in the higher school’.The conference was
aimed to develop major aspects of the spiritual and ethical
education concept, teaching and enlightening of students
in higher schools in Russia. At the closing ceremony
Deputy-Chairman of the Sinodal Department for Religious
Education and catechesis, Hiegumen Mitrofan (Shkurin),
and the Chairman of Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Ministry of education and
science, RUDN University RectorV.M. Filippov granted awards to the winners of the IX Annual All-
Russian contest in the sphere of pedagogy, education and work with children and teenagers‘For
the acts of moral courage’. This year 5 teachers and 8 teams received the award. The rewarding of
the clergymen and laity with Patriarchal Order‘For the acts of spiritual and ethical enlightenment’
also took place when metropolitan Mercury awarded 17 people including the RUDN University
Rector V.M. Filippov. In his speech, the Rector expressed his gratitude for such honour and
announced that it was that very day when the presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission
took a decision to create a new scientific field of studies, i.e. theology.

Creative clubs and ensembles of RUDN University celebrated the annual holiday ‘Tatiana’s Day’
with a concert where they presented their new songs as well as the most popular of their earlier
performances.
A special concert dedicated to the 55th
Anniversary of RUDN
University was organized by RUDN University chorus‘Rose of
winds’ from IHBiT under the supervision of concertmaster A.
Ryzhinsky and band director N.Vitko. Participants performed a
number of their earlier and new compositions and presented
their gift to RUDN University, i.e. a very popular song ‘Misa
Criolla’#1, 2, 4, 5 by an Argentinian composer Ariel Ramirez.
Conference ‘Development of competencies for the hospitality industry in the university
environment’ took place at the IHBiT, RUDN University. The organizer of the conference was the
regional department of theWorld Association for Hospitality andTourism Education andTraining
AMFORHT headed by the IHBiT Director S.B. Dikhtyar.
III International scientific and research conference ‘English language at higher educational
institutions: contemporary tendencies in teaching methods’ took place at RUDN University. The
conference was organized by the Department of Foreign languages of the Faculty of humanities
and social sciences and Macmillan Publishing Company. This year the conference was dedicated
to the issues of preparing and taking international examinations in English. The participants
discussed modern tendencies in teaching foreign languages and online technologies in teaching
English in higher educational institutions.
RUDN University graduates, Chairman of the Russian Federa-
tion Council in constitutional legislation and state construc-
tion Andrey Klishas and a member of RF Council Committee
for defense and security Oksana Belokon met with the stu-
dents of the Law Institute at RUDN University. Andrey Klishas
told students about the activities and work of the Federation
Council, law-making process as well as cooperation with oth-
er bodies of the government. In her speech, Oksana Belokon announced that Russia has enough
resources to come out of crisis without any negative side-effects. Moreover, she highly evaluated
the national defense capability.
RUDN University held a Conference of RUDN University research-teaching staff, other categories
of employees and students. The following reports were delivered at the Conference:‘On the Mid-
term development program execution at University, faculties and institutes in 2014 and on the
goals of Mid-term development program at University, faculties and institutes in 2015-2016’;‘On
changes in the University Academic Council’; ‘On the results of work carried out in accordance
with the Collective agreement between the RUDN University administration and RUDN University
Student Council in 2014’. Finally, the new members of the Social Insurance fund Commission
were confirmed and the list of‘RUDN University Veteran’badge holders was established.
RUDN University traditionally held the Open Doors Day,
when a great number of people arrived to visit the university.
School-leavers and their parents had the opportunity to
get acquainted with the university administration, deans of
faculties and directors of institutes and learn more about
the departments and curriculum programs offered at RUDN
University, student life and future perspectives of RUDN
University graduates.
Results of the William Lowell Putman Mathematical Competition were announced at RUDN
University. More than 250 students from 9 countries participated at the competition. The
participants were the students from the RUDN University Faculty of Science. The winner of the
competition is a 3rd year student E. Zagorenko.

RUDN University celebrated its 55th
Anniversary. Representa-
tives from more than 170 countries arrived to congratulate
RUDN University! Anniversary Week was full of joyous and
blissful events such as meetings with foreign delegations,
launching new innovation centres, solemn ceremonies of Ac-
ademic Council Session at faculties and institutes, meeting
with RUDN University alumni and, finally, unforgettable con-
cert in the State Kremlin Palace.
Educational Research and Innovation Flight Control Centre
(FCC RUDN University-Central Mechanical Engineering Sci-
entific Research Institute) and Training- Demonstration Cen-
tre (TDC RUDN University- Russian Space Systems) were
launched at RUDN University. These two centres were initiat-
ed at RUDN University in order to promote space activities in
the Russian Federation. The projects were initiated by RUDN
University along with the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos), URSC (United Rocket and
Space Corporation), Federal State Unitary Enterprise ‘Central Mechanical Engineering Scientific
Research Institute’, Joint Stock Company ‘Russian Space Systems’. The solemn opening ceremo-
ny was attended by V. Filippov (RUDN University Rector), A. Milkovsky (Director of FSUE ‘Central
Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering’), A. Tyulin (CEO of JSC ‘Russian Space Systems’), S.
Krikalev (first deputy Director of FSUE ‘Central Mechanical Engineering Scientific Research Insti-
tute’), V. Selin (Deputy CEO, Deputy Chief Designer of Russian Space Systems), N. Volobuev (CEO
‘Rostec’). At the solemn ceremony the online contact with the spacecraft was established.
Vladimir Filippov held a press-conference‘International University: strategy and tactics of devel-
opment’. The press-conference, which was dedicated to the 55th

took place in the International Multimedia Press-Centre‘Russia Today’. ‘Once in 5 years we orga-
nize a very big event. February, 7th
there will be a big concert dedicated to the 55th
Anniversary of
RUDN University. More than 6,000 people from 170 countries are invited to the concert’, - said Mr.
Filippov. The speaker also added that among the guests there would be some honored guests,
RUDN University alumni, presidents and country leaders. According to the RUDN University Rec-
tor, the State Award Ceremony will also take place during the concert.

countries. Vladimir Filippov held meetings with long ex-
pected guests from Bangladesh, Brazil, Great Britain, Viet-
nam, Co-operative Republic of Guyana, Germany, Domin-
ican Republic, Egypt, India, Jordan, Spain, Kazakhstan,
Canada, Cote D’Ivoire, Lebanon, Mali, Nepal, Sultanate of Oman, Peru, Singapore, Tanzania,
the Czech Republic, Japan. Among guests were also delegations from Universities and educa-
tional institutions from all over Russia, including Chelyabinsk, Belgorod, Stavropol, Uryupinsk
and many other regions.
Solemn opening ceremony of the Institute of Alternative Med-
icine took place at RUDN University. The Institute headed by R.
Singh is one of RUDN University Departments which provides
postgraduate education. For those who are interested in alter-
native medicine, the Institute offers departments of physiother-
apy, Chinese medicine, Tibetan medicine, Ayurveda. The teach-
ing and academic staff consists of the best professional and
leading experts in the sphere of alternative medicine including Doctors of Medicine and many
experienced experts from South-Asian countries. After the solemn opening ceremony, the guests
were invited to visit the Institute of Alternative Medicine Clinic and were offered to take part in
the workshops of Thai massage, acupuncture and yoga.

Solemn Sessions of Academic Councils dedicated to the
55th
Anniversary of RUDN University, were held at faculties
and departments. The solemn sessions were attended
by RUDN University alumni, honored guests, veterans of
work, honorary figures of the Russian Higher Education,
RUDN University employee and teaching and academic
staff.
Under the auspices of UNESCO, International scientific and research conference ‘International
university – strategy and tactics of development’, dedicated to the 55th
Anniversary of RUDN
University, took place at RUDN University. UNESCO, Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian
Federation, Russian Academy of Education, IREG supported RUDN University in the organization of
the conference.
Among the topics of discussion at the conference were the process of internalization and global
education,developmentofinternationaleducationassociations,networkandtransarealuniversities,
development of integration of innovative technology in education, accomplishing practice-oriented
and continuing educational programs.
RUDN University served an example of a universal educational institution. Using RUDN University
as an example, the conference participants discussed humanization of education and training
highly-qualified specialists, developing the socio-cultural environment at RUDN University (training,
science, innovation, education and work culture), establishing comprehensive dialogue and
strategy in education of the XXI century as well as promoting cultural dialogue in the context of
internalization of higher education.
Anniversary Week ended with the most entertaining event, i.e. the
Gala-Night at the State Kremlin Palace. The Gala-Night was dedicated
to the 55th
Anniversary of RUDN University. More then 6,000 people
from 170 countries attended the concert. The Gala-Night opened with
the demonstration of a movie about the University ‘RUDN University
- 55’, which was warmly welcomed by the audience. RUDN University
Rector Vladimir Filippov made a welcoming speech. Honored guests
also delivered speeches and greeted and congratulated RUDN
University on its anniversary and expressed all the best wishes and
prosperity to the University. Among the honored guests were the First
Deputy Minister of Science and Education of the Russian Federation
N. Tretyak ,who represented the Russian Prime Minister D. Medvedev; Prime Minister of Kazakhstan,
RUDN University Doctor Honoris Causa, RUDN University graduate K. Massimov; State Duma Deputy
Chairman S. Zheleznyak (who forwarded greetings from the Russian State Duma Chairman S.
Naryshkin). Chairman of the Council Federation V. Matvienko wished prosperity and bright future to
the University. Distinguished RUDN University workers were awarded with State Prize of the Russian
Federation, awards of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, RUDN
University was awarded with the Diploma of the Government of the Russian Federation.
More to that, CEO of Russian Space Systems A. Tyulin and cosmonauts directly from the spacecraft
wished RUDN University to achieve faantastic success.
At the closing part of the ceremony RUDN University Rector Vladimir Filippov took over the stage
and delivered his closing speech.
After the official opening ceremony was finished and the break was over, RUDN University students
presented a big and very entertaining concert. The concert included performances of fraternities of
Asian, Arab, African, Latin American, CIS countries as well as of different parts of Russia, and themed
performances including those devoted to the 70th
Anniversary of Great Victory in WWII.
The concert ended with the performance of all the concert
participants and those who made this Anniversary Concert
happen.
During the whole night thousands of multinational hearts
were beating in unison, in one rhythm – in the rhythm of the
peoples’ friendship which made every single person proud
of their University, the RUDN University.

RUDN University hosted the last (on-campus) stage of ‘United Inter-University Mathematical
Competition’for schoolchildren of 9-11th
grades from Moscow, Moscow region and other regions
of the country. There were 69 participants, 53 of which were schoolchildren studying in the 11th
grade. 14 schoolchildren became winners of the first, second and third prizes.
Representatives of the Free University of Brussels Christine Titkhart and Anne Peters paid an of-
ficial visit to RUDN University. During their stay at the University they discussed current matters
of effective cooperation in future. Christine Titkhart offered a speaking practice workshop to the
students of basic course in Esperanto.
Within the frame of 55th
Anniversary of RUDN University a delega-
tion from Soka University (Japan) visited the Faculty of humanities
and social sciences. The Vice-Rector of the Soka University Khiroto-
mo Teranishi, the Director of International department Masaru Osa-
nai, professor Micuru Eguti and professor Stella Valria Sivakova had
a meeting with the Faculty administration.
Doctor Honoris Causa of RUDN University, professor of political sci-
ence, Director of the Centre for management and government pol-
icy of Carlton University (Canada) Piotr Dutkevich visited RUDN
University. RUDN University Rector V.M. Filippov gave him a warm
welcome. During his stay at RUDN University, the Professor met with
RUDN University students and made a report on the topics of‘Insta-
bility and uncertainty in the world – reasons and consequences’.
A delegation from the Manama University (Bahrain) visited RUDN University.The President of the
Manama University Ibrahim Mohammed Janahi, who participated in the ceremony of signing
the framework agreement, emphasized the importance of developing cooperation between two
universities in the spheres of education and scientific research.
‘School for innovation development-2015’ was held at RUDN University. The major goal of the
School was to develop innovational fields at RUDN University by attracting students to carry out
research and break-through projects. RUDN University graduates and post-graduates of the Fac-
ulty of Science, Economics, Engineering, Ecology as well as Medical and Agrarian and technolog-
ical institutes participated in the event. Within the framework of the event, lectures in ‘Research
and innovation contests for the young: steps to success’, ‘Innovation and innovation manage-
ment’,‘Innovative marketing’were carried out.
Within the celebration of the 55th
Anniversary of RUDN Univer-
sity, a delegation of representatives from the Green building
industry from the United Arab Emirates, Great Britain, EU, Jor-
dan and Cambodia visited the Ecological Faculty (RUDN Univer-
sity). During their visit the delegation held a number of meet-
ings which were also attended by the RUDN University Rector
V.M. Filippov, representative from IES company in the European region (RuGBC) M. Farrell and the
CEO of the Russian Green Building Council (RuGBC) G.A. Imza. The major topic of discussion was
the launching of an inter-disciplinary master’s degree program‘Green building and spatial devel-
opment of territories’and the necessity of international community to support educational pro-
grams in green building, scientific and research works and academic mobility of students at the
Ecological and Engineering faculties at RUDN University.
The University held culture days of students from Cameroon.
Within the frame of culture days national exhibitions of the fra-
ternity, the conference ‘The role of the youth in the develop-
ment of Cameroon’ and the evening in the RUDN University In-
terclub were organized and attended by the RUDN University
administration. A tournament in mini-football also took place

A meeting dedicated to the Russian Diplomatic worker’s
day took place at RUDN University. It was not the first time
when celebration on this occasion took place at RUDN Uni-
versity. This professional holiday serves the interests of the
Russian government to strengthen national identity and
its grounds, i.e. international affairs service, development
of patriotism and pride for our Motherland and its history.
Association of Pakistani Alumni from Russian and CIS universities celebrated 55th
Anniversary of
RUDN University at the Russian scientific and cultural centre in Pakistan. RUDN University alum-
ni and friends arrived to participate in the celebration. The Vice-General Councilor of Russia in
Karachi A.V. Fedorov and the Director of the Russian scientific and cultural centre S.L. Kuznetsov
attended the official opening ceremony. The celebration night included an official opening cer-
emony, toasts and congratulations, movie preview ‘RUDN University Today’ devoted to the 55th
Anniversary of RUDN University, small talks about the university and reception.
Final round of the Inter-regional competition of schoolchildren‘Highest probe’attracted school-
children of 7-11 grades to compete in the spheres of law (199 participants), journalism (122 par-
ticipants) and literature (227 participants).
The Director of the Institute of Law O.A. Yastrebov and the Dean of the Philological Faculty
V.V. Barabash met with the parents and schoolchildren, the participants of the competition
in law, journalism and literature in order to promote the university and attract the schoolchil-
dren to come and study at RUDN University. RUDN University, in cooperation with the High-
er School of Economics, offered a ‘Workshop in how to negotiate’ to the participants of the
competition in journalism and a mind game ‘Literature mascaraed’ to the participants in the
competition in literature.
The final game of the tournament in mini-football organized by Association of Students from Af-
rican countries (ASSAFSTU-RUDN University) which was scheduled for the winter holidays, took
place today.The winners were the team from Cote d’Ivoir.The second came the team from Ango-
la, the third was the team from Morocco.
The big event‘The Day of Science’was organized at the Faculty of Humanities and social scienc-
es. A number of round-table sessions were held then which covered all the spheres of studies of-
fered at the Faculty. Leading specialists from the top Russian scientific and research institutions
visited the Faculty. The section of ‘History’hosted the representatives of the Russian Geographi-
cal Society M.V. Zakharova (a Counsellor to Executive Office of the Russian Geographical Society)
and A.V. Kluychko (an expert in the sphere of media-projects of the Expedition Centre of RGS in
North Federal District). An outstanding Russian scientist, the Director of the Institute of Sociolo-
gy of RAS, academician M.K. Gorshkov joined the Section of‘Sociology’.

The University held culture days of students from the Dominican Republic. In the frame of culture

Embassy officers met Egyptian undergraduate and post-graduate students studying at RUDN

Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia participated in the
41st
Annual international exhibition‘Education and career –
XXI century’. The event took place in the Gostiniy Dvor Guest
House. There were exhibitions presented by more than 300
universities, colleges, professional oriented centres of Mos-
cow and Russia and more than 20 foreign educational institu-
tions. The visitors had an opportunity to receive information,
talk to the teaching staff and Admission Committee members, representatives of different facul-
ties and institutes in RUDN University.
Soloists of RUDN University folklore studio ‘Raduga’ participated in
the international vocal contest‘Voice of future’held in Tobolsk. The

of KVN International Unity.
The University held Culture days of students from Jamaica. In the frame of Culture days nation-
al exhibitions of the fraternity took place in different buildings of the University. Students orga-
nized a disco-night in the Interclub of RUDN University, a mini-football tournament and the eve-
ning concert in the RUDN University assembly hall.
RUDN University held national fraternities exhibitions of stu-
dents from Bulgaria and Moldova in the hall of the main RUDN
University building. National souvenirs, costumes, books, book-
lets, catalogs and other national attributes of Bulgaria and Mol-
dova were presented at the exhibition.
Regional academic Director of EF English First I.I. Sedov, RUDN University graduate, visited RUDN
University. The meeting was arranged as a part of the curricular practical training (psychological
and pedagogic) of the Bachelor degree students. At the meeting I.I. Sedov offered RUDN Univer-
sity to sign an Agreement with EF English First where RUDN University students could undergo
teaching training.
RUDN University Days, dedicated to the 55th

University, took place in Lebanon. The organizer of the events
was the Association of Soviet and Russian Alumni in Lebanon. On
March 4th
, the Ambassador of RF in Lebanon, A.S. Zasipkin and
Cultural and educational Attaché S.A. Vorobiev welcomed the
RUDN University delegation in Lebanon. During their visit the
RUDN University delegation discussed matters of Lebanese students’ enrollment at RUDN Uni-
versity and decreasing education quotas for Lebanese students. During their stay in Lebanon,
the RUDN University delegation visited the St. Joseph’s University where they reached an agree-
ment to create a working group consisting of the representatives of the RUDN University Med-
ical Institute; the RUDN University delegation also had a meeting with A.A. Akhmetov, Head of
the Russian cultural centre in Beirut and the representative of Rossotrudnichestvo in Lebanon; a
meeting with alumni from RUDN University and other Russian universities took place in the cities
of Nabatieh and Tir. On March 5, the RUDN University delegation was welcomed by the Adnan
Sayyed Hussein, the President of the Lebanese University. It was the same day when the Associ-
ation of the Soviet alumni in Lebanon arranged a reception dedicated to the 45th
Anniversary of
the Association which was attended by the Ambassador of RF in Lebanon, Counsellor of the RF in
Lebanon and the Counsellor of Ukraine in Lebanon.
RUDN University hosted the final round of a student con-
test “You’re Simply the Best-2015”. The event was attended
by honoured guests, RUDN University partners in the sphere
of education, i.e. A.I. Khrapach, CEO of‘InterAcadem’interna-
tional educational agency, and M.L. Prikhodko, Chief Officer.
E. Pankratova, a student from the Department of Ling-uistics
won the Title ‘Miss the Best’ and was awarded with a Certifi-
cate for a 2-weeks’internship in Kaplan schools in Great Britain and the USA.
A number of events devoted to the International Women’s Day took place in RUDN University In-
terclub: a conference‘An increasing role of a woman in the African community’and a gala night-
the concert of African Students Association.
Teachers of the Philological Faculty (RUDN University), Department of the Russian language and
methods of its teaching E.N. Baryshnikova and assistant I.I. Rybakova organized a concert on March
8th
at the academic centre of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo. The concert was ded-
icated to the International Women’s Day. Students, who study the Russian language in San Domin-
go, sang songs about women and for women in Russian. The concert was attended by the Repre-
sentatives from the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic, Association of Soviet and
Russian alumni and by many other popular political figures from the Province of Altagracia.

University Championship in Ping-pong ‘RUDN University Golden racket’ was held in the Physical
and recreational centre at RUDN University. The organizers of the event were Sport club‘Druzhba’,
the Faculty of Physical education and sport and Association of Russian Student Sports Clubs. The
major goal of the championship was to attract as many people as possible to doing sports and ex-
ercises on a regular basis. More than 50 athletes competed for the title of‘RUDN University Golden
racket’. The winner of the Championship and the holder of the title‘RUDN University Golden rack-
et’among men became Andrey Martynenko and Emma Enkhtaivan - among women.
Director of ‘Group IB’ I.K. Sachkov gave an open lecture on ‘Cy-
ber-crime: facts, people, countermeasures’ at the Faculty of Hu-
manities and social sciences. With the rapid development of the
informational technologies the number of crimes against busi-
nesses today is increasing immensely. In 2013, the cyber-crime ef-
fect totaled to 27 bln $. It was not just a potential threat but the
actual money that the hackers had stolen from the companies
and ordinary people. In order to give a precise evaluation to the risks of the informational securi-
ty, we need to know the people who are on the other side of the law. During his lecture, I.K. Sac-
hkov discussed the following matters:
- What is cyber-crime today?
- Who are those hackers who get into our systems and steal our money?
- How was the investigation of the biggest cases carried out?
- What are the true motives behind hacking?
- What is the structure of the cyber-crime market, how does it develop and what shall the owners
of businesses today be ready for?
RUDN University held national fraternity exhibitions of students

culture were presented at the exhibition.
A gala night devoted to the festival of Spring “Mercishor”was arranged in Interclub by Moldavi-
an students.
Students of the Faculty of Humanities and social sciences participat-
ed in the meeting with Pierre Helg, the Extraordinary and Plenipoten-
tiary Ambassador of Switzerland to the Russian Federation, who dis-
cussed the ‘Perspectives and development of Swiss-Russian relations
in the spheres of political, economic and humanitarian cooperation’.
A concert, dedicated to the 50th
Anniversary of the Department of Ophthalmology, took place
in the RUDN University Main building. University administration officers, Director of the Medical
Institute A.U. Abramov, the heads and teaching staff of the leading Russian universities, special-
ists in Ophthalmology arrived to congratulate the Department on such an important occasion.
Supported by the Department of Latin America and the Embassy of Republic
of Guatemala, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Re-
public of Guatemala in the Russian Federation Prof. Herbert Estuardo Mene-
ses Coronado gave an open lecture on ‘The culture of Maya and ecology in
the Republic of Guatemala’to the students of the Ecological Faculty at RUDN
University.
The Agrarian and Technological Institute, Department of Soil Science and Farming held a‘Univer-
sity Saturday clean-up Day’for students and schoolchildren of high school. What is more, the Fac-
ulty also held a workshop‘Use of unmanned flying vehicles’where the speakers demonstrated the
technology of monitoring natural resources, solving land and other issues with the help of un-
manned flying vehicles and system of operative cartography.

Samsung Electronics Company and RUDN University signed a
bilateral agreement on cooperation in the field of social and
educational project‘IT SAMSUNG SCHOOL’. The RUDN Univer-
sity administration attended the meeting:
RUDN University Rector V.M. Filippov, L.G. Voskresensky
(Dean of the Faculty of Science), El.V. Martynenko (Vice-Rec-
tor for PR) and A.P. Efremov (First Vice-Rector). Among the
representatives of the Samsung Company were the Director of Department for Corporate rela-
tions of Samsung Electronics head-quarters for CIS countries S. Pevnev, manager for educational
programs of the Samsung Electronics Scientific and research centre S.Yun.
The project‘IT SAMSUNG SCHOOL’is aimed at helping to prepare future IT engineers, that is the
aim which corresponds to the goals in the educational sphere in Russia today. Moreover, it is
aimed to help students in professional orientation and to increase their interest in the sphere of
IT-innovations. The curriculum includes a course of Introduction to IT and Programming for the
high school schoolchildren (10th
grades mainly). The project was to be launched in all secondary
schools, lyceums, gymnasiums and institutions for continuous education in Russia. A compre-
hensive and integrated approach of the Samsung School is a technical basis of the project and
in order to make the educational process more attractive they use an interactive board, i.e. Sam-

The Samsung School approach ensures complete engagement of students in the educational
process by using interactive approach along with educational materials and any other addition-

Within the current project Samsung Electronics also provides support in the educational process.
Education project ‘IT School Samsung’ is a free educational course. Students can be enrolled to
the program upon the result of their admission tests.
Student chess tournament took place at the Faculty of the Russian
language and general disciplines. Several dozens of students took
part in the tournament.
RUDN University team of Willem C. Vis Arbitration Moot took part in the VI Moscow Pre-Moot,
devoted to the preparation to the 22nd
International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienne
(Austria). The Pre-moot took place in the Lomonosov Moscow State University. Among the par-
ticipants were 20 teams from the leading Law Universities of Russia, Germany, Belorussia, Turkey,
Switzerland and the USA. RUDN University team displayed high level of preparation and self-or-
ganization and took the 1st
prize in the contest.
The language of the competition was English.
RUDN University hosted the XVI Culture week of the stu-
dents from the Middle East (a Week of the Arab culture).
RUDN University Rector V.M. Filippov and Mr. H. E. Faed Mus-
tafa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pal-
estine to the Russian Federation, delivered speeches at the
opening ceremony which took place in the Main building of
the University.
Within the Week of culture RUDN University students organized a tournament in mini-football,
national exhibitions of fraternities from Middle East countries, a round-table ‘Russian-Arab rela-
tions in the modern times’, chess tournament among students from the Middle Eastern coun-
tries and gala-night which took place in the assembly hall of the RUDN University main building.

Students of the Medical Institute participated in the Inter-University student conference ‘Con-
temporary issues of child surgery and intensive therapy’which took place at the Pirogov Russian
National Research Medical University.
Interclub creative teams participated in the VIII Moscow Youth patriotic contest «Spring 1945».
The Preobrazhenie, Orfei, Raduga studios as well as dancing ensemble ‘Rhythms of friendship’
had absolutely enlifting and mesmerizing performances.
Supported by the Non-government Ecological Fund named after Vernadsky and Helmholtz As-
sociation, the Ecological Faculty held a scientific and research seminar for the Vernadsky schol-
arship holders ‘Environment management and ecological security in regions’. The major aim of
the seminar was to create teams of intellectual youth in order to work on common scientific and
research projects.
Within a joint-program ‘Pritok’ initiated by RUDN University and Moscow Domodedovo Airport,
RUDN University organized an outdoor Open Doors Day in the gymnasium of Ramenskoe. The
following departments participated in the event:‘Unikum’Centre, Faculty of Humanities and so-
cial sciences, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Ecology, Institutes of Medicine and Law.
RUDN University Institute of Foreign Languages hosted a Week of Second foreign languages.The
educational project is one of the most important events in the cultural and scientific life of the In-
stitute. The Project was dedicated to several events such as theYear of the Spanish language and
literature in Russia, Year of the German language and literature in Russia, Year of the Chinese lan-
guage and literature in Russia.The Project was aimed to encourage students to learn more about
cross-cultural communication and country studies.
The University held culture days of students from the Republic of Columbia. In the frame of cul-
ture days students organized national exhibitions, demonstrated a Columbian film ‘Mateo’, held
a conference ‘Columbia – the art of the world’, a gala-concert in the assembly hall of the RUDN
University main building and a tournament in mini-football. Columbian students visited School
#1329 where they also gave a fiery concert and presented their country.
A musical lectorium‘Muses also fought’dedicated to the 70th
Anniversary of the Vistory over Fas-
cism was organized by Prof. Frolov at the Medical Institute. The core idea was to perform the po-
ems and songs from the times of the WWII .

XI Scientific conference among undergraduate and
post-graduate students and young scientists ‘Contemporary
issues of the international relations and world politics’ took
place at the Faculty of humanities and social sciences.
‘Kulturnoe prostranstvo’ club initiated a fantastic and unique holiday of national costumes. Stu-
dents from different countries made very nice presentations where they told about the origins
of their national costumes.The audience had an opportunity to get acquainted with the national
costumes of the following countries: Angola, Afghanistan, Bulgaria, Bolivia, Vietnam, Guinea-Bis-

Agrarian and technological institute in RUDN University, in cooperation with the Federal Agency
for State Support for Agricultural Insurance (AFAESA) and the Russian Agriculture Ministry,
organized the III Scientific and research conference ‘Independent expertise in agricultural
insurance. Perspectives of development’.
Interclub creative teams participated in the XXII Moscow
Student festival‘FESTOS - 2015’.‘Raduga’studio,‘Orfei’studio and
other dancing groups from Ecuador, Vietnam, Turkmenistan,
ensemble ‘Legends of mountains’, ‘Rhythms of friendship’ and
‘Preobrazhenie’studio presented RUDN University.
The University held culture days of students from Nepal. In the
frame of the culture days RUDN University students held a round-
table discussion‘Modern Nepal: Country. People. Culture’.The event
also featured national exhibitions of the fraternity, demonstration
of a documentary movie and gala-night.
RUDN University participated in the conference ‘Scientometrics and perspectives of its use in
evaluation and planning of science in Russia’, which was organized by the Thomson Reuters
Company. The main topics of discussion were: the current state of science in Russia, strategies
of its development, the present and the future of scientific project management, presentation
of the book ‘Introduction to scientometrics: indicators of development of sciences and
technologies’, modern informational resources and solutions in scientometrics.
Department of theory and history of journalism held an
International conference ‘Perspectives of world journalism: the
history and the modern times’. The conference proceeded a
dialogue traditionally established between RUDN University
undergraduate and postgraduate students, leading scientists
and researchers on the issues of journalism in Russia and in the
world. The representatives from countries of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Moldova and
Uzbekistan as well as various educational institutions. i.e. from the Russian State University
for the Humanities, Moscow Institute of International Relations (University) MFA RF, Surgut
State Pedagogical University, Bashkir state university, Rostov state university of economics,
journalists-researchers from international informational agency ‘Russia today’ participated in
the conference. The book of Conference proceedings was published to cover the main points of
discussion at the conference.
Final concert to mark the end of the University contest ’70 years
of the Great Victory’ took place at RUDN University. During the
concert the results of the Contest were announced.

is a project initiated by RUDN University students and strongly

RUDN University hosted ‘Mr.Agrarian Faculty-2015’ which
is equally popular as ‘Miss Agrarian Faculty’, which became
a nice tradition at the Faculty. The winner of the Contest ‘Mr.
Agrarian Faculty-2015’ was Gagik Nahapetyan, Vice-Mr. was
Uzeir Fahatov, Audience Award went to Alim Akhumashev.
RUDNUniversityhostedthetraditionallyheldfolklorefestival‘Nations
of Russia’. It’s been the 21st
consecutive year of the festival where
individual performers and student groups from all parts of Russia
come to display different unique instruments and national costumes.
They familiarize foreign students with traditional songs and dances
and give an opportunity to learn more about the national diversity of
our big country. During the days of the festival national exhibitions
and workkshops were held and attended by foreign students. There
the students could see all national costumes, ornaments, household
items of small and bigger nations in Russia.
Celebration dedicated to the 55th
Anniversary of
RUDN University took place in Nepal.
During those days solemn meetings and themed
seminar ‘Development of ties between academic
institutions of Russia, CIS countries and Nepal’were
organized. The core topic of discussion was the
development of cooperation between universities
of Russia, CIS countries and Nepal in the spheres
of education, science and culture. RUDN University Alumni from Nepal and other Russian and
soviet universities and their families and other social figures attended the meeting.
The University held national exhibitions of fraternities of Antigua and Barbuda. National
souvenirs, costumes, books, booklets, catalogues and other cultural attributes were exhibited.
A delegation from the State of Palestine headed by President
Mahmoud Abbas who was on an official visit to Moscow upon
the invitation of the Russian Federation visited RUDN University.
The delegation was welcomed by A.P. Efremov, Acting Rector, First
Vice-Rector – First Vice-Rector for educational matters. During the
meeting, the parties noted the contribution of RUDN University
in the preparation of highly-qualified specialists for Palestine. Mr.
Mahmoud Abbas was awarded the honorary title of RUDN University
Doctor Honoris Causa upon the Decree of the RUDN University
Academic Council on April 6th, 2015. The corresponding Diploma and regalia were given to
him at a solemn ceremony. During his visit to RUDN University Mr. Mahmoud Abbas signed the
Guest Book.

An amateur chess tournament for the ‘RUDN University Planet’
Cup took place in the RUDN University main building. The
tournament took place within the ceremonial events dedicated to
the 55th
Anniversary of RUDN University. Among participants were
the students and teaching and academic staff of the University as
well as the members of the State Duma, members of the Russian
Federation Council, representatives of the Russian Government,
diplomats from many other countries including such figures as Mr. Alexander Ageev, Chairman
of the State Duma Committee on Constitutional Law and State Construction, Dmitry Gorovtsov,
Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-corruption,Viktor Likhorev,
Representative of Central Office of the Russian State Duma.
Grand Master Igor Gleck held a simultaneous game session for those willing to participate. The
winner of the tournament was Dmitry Zamega, a RUDN University graduate from the Faculty of
Science in 2005 who is currently holding a position of an assistant of a member of the Russian
State Duma. The 1st
award for the best result among women was given to Maya Gvilava, who
totaled 5.5. points. The prize winners were awarded with Cups, medals and diplomas of different
degrees respectively.
RUDN University hosted the XIII ‘Fair of ideas at Yugo-Zapad’.
This year 498 schoolchildren from 5 to 11 grades from schools
from Moscow, Moscow region and the Republic of Belorussia
participatedinthecontestofprojectsandresearchworks.Intotal
there were 241 project works in various fields of studies offered
at RUDN University. More than 220 experts, representatives of
the Faculties and Institutes in RUDN University, evaluated the
project works within 5 scientific and academic fields, which were presented in the form of poster
sessions and open public platforms.
RUDN University hosted the IX Culture week of students from
African countries. During the week the following events took
place: tournament in mini-football, meeting of the African
cinema-club, national exhibitions of the fraternities, a round-
table ‘Creole languages of the African countries’ and a gala-
night in the assembly hall in the University main building.
Faculty of Science held an All-Russian conference (with international participants)‘informational
and tele-communicational technologies and mathematic modelling of highly-technological
systems’.
Medical Institute successfully held a Russian-Norwegian conference in somatic aspects of alcohol-
induced damages. The conference was organized by the teaching staff from the Department of
hospital therapy.
Delegation from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
(Greece) headed by its Rector, Prof. P.Mitkas, visited
RUDN University. The delegation consisted of Prof. J.N.
Kazasis, President of the Cetre of Greek language of
the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and D. Fotiadis,
International relations Department Senior Officer.
RUDN University Rector V.M. Filippov welcomed the
guests. During the meeting the parties exchanged their opinions concerning the current
state of cooperation between the Russian and Greek universities. The Greek party expressed
their interest in establishing and developing cooperation with RUDN University in the spheres
of education and scientific research. The priority in the fields of cooperation were given to
the joint Master degree programs and programs in Russian as a foreign language, academic
staff and student exchange programs including the programs within the European program
‘Erasmus-plus’. The meeting resulted in signing a Cooperation Agreement and Work Program
for 2015-2017.

Musical salon ‘Musical planet’ devoted to the topic ‘We
brought spring to the Planet’ took place in the assembly hall

Chechen Republic were presented at the exhibition.
All-Russian scientific and research student conference ‘Law,
society, state: issues in theory and history’ was held at the
Institute of Law. The organizers were the Department of Theory
and History of state and law. The conference was aimed to
attract the students to the issues in theory and history of
legislation, to search for new approaches in understanding
and comparative analysis of the aspects of legislation. The best
works, presented at the conference, were included in the book of the Conference proceedings,
which was to be published after the conference.
It was the 7th
time that RUDN University students visited the children’s holiday camp ‘Lesnoy
gorodok’ (Pushkin district, Moscow oblast). 50 RUDN University post-graduate and graduate
students, representatives of the RUDN University Student Council, RUDN University Hostel
Council, Women’s Committee, student committees of the Faculties and Institutes, fraternities
and other foreign student organizations, participated in the trip.
The final event of the socially-oriented volunteer project ‘From the first person’ was held in the
assembly hall at RUDN University Interclub. The representatives of Vladimir Potanin Charity
Foundation, schoolchildren and head-masters of the schools of South-West Administrative
District and Istrinsky district in Moscow, representatives of RUDN University administration,
teaching and academic staff and RUDN University students attended the event.

of the Moscow region, which was dedicated to the 70th
Anniversary of WWII Victory. The Forum
took place in the Museum exhibition complex‘New Jerusalem’.
RUDN University hosted a round-table discussion ‘My family
during WWII’ which was dedicated to the 70th
Anniversary of
WWII Victory. A.S. Protopopov, Dr. in History and Veteran of
WWII, and A.D. Gladush, Vice-Rector for work with students;
A.V. Ermakov, Head of the Department for work with stu-
dents, V.A. Borisov, Veteran of the Armed Forces of the Rus-
sian Federation, deputy deans, directors, teaching and aca-
demic staff and students from all RUDN University faculties
and Institutes participated in the Forum. Students delivered their presentations.The best presen-
tations were published in the collection of articles‘My family in WWII 1941-1945’.
RUDN University co-organized the V International scientific and research conference ‘Future of
Europe and Russia in the post-crisis world’(Nice, France).
Representatives of Russian and French universities, professors, experts, researchers and post-
graduate students participated at the conference. Within the last 5 years due to geographical
changes the number of the countries-participants in the conference has gone up. The current
conference can be characterized as multidisciplinary, shifting from discussing economic issues
to economic and legislative, political, social and ecological issues of development of European
countries, Russia and the CIS countries.
An international delegation of 100 RUDN University students
and officers visited the memorial ‘The Tomb of the Unknown
Soldier’ at the Alexandrovsky Garden (Alexandrovsky Sad)
metro station and laid a wreath and flowers to the monument.
RUDN University hosted the District student festival ‘Planet
South –West’ (in cooperation with the South-West Adminis-
trative District Prefect in Moscow). The festival program in-
cluded 88 national exhibitions of fraternities and a concert.
There were more than 4,000 participants in the festival. RUDN

The final round of the ‘Rector’s Cup-2015’ took place at RUDN University. 6 teams which
consisted of Asian students and 1 team of Latin American and Caribbean students participated
in the finals. The winners were the team of Indian students.
The University held Culture days of students from Abkhazia.
In the frame of Culture days national exhibitions of the
fraternity and tournament in ping-pong took place in the
Interclub. National souvenirs, costumes, books, booklets,

The University held Culture Week of students from Republic of India. Within the frame of the
Culture week there was a round-table discussion organized at the RUDN University Museum
headlined ‘Modern India. Issues and perspectives of development’, as well as were national
exhibitions of the fraternity, demonstration of an Indian movie and a gala-night which took
place in the assembly hall at RUDN University Interclub.
Faculty of Science hosted the LI All-Russian scientific and research conference on the issues of
dynamics, physics of particles, physics of plasma and optoelectronics. 130 people including
RUDN University administration and academic staff, researchers and academicians from
the Moscow State University, Ulyanovsk State University, All-Russian research institute of
metrological service, RAS Space Research Institute, State pedagogical humanitarian university
and other research and educational institutions participated in the conference.
Soloists of Preobrazhenie studio Ellina Orlova and Amarzhan Baishev, as well as a singer from the
academic vocal studio Bris Fuako participated in a big concert of the Victory Ball‘At 6 o’clock in
the evening…’carried out in the Moscow Hermitage Garden.
A delegation of the Lebanese University headed by the
Dean of the Faculty of Agronomy, Samir Medawar visited
RUDN University. Mr. Samir Medawar held negotiations
with the Deputy Director of the Agrarian and Technological
Institute P.A. Dokukin. Due to the earlier signed agreement
on cooperation between the universities, the parties signed
a Statement of Work for the faculties to cooperate, which also includes academic and student
exchange programs, joint scientific and research programs and organization of conferences.
The University held Culture Days of students from Jordan. Within the frame of Culture Days a
tournament in football took place in the Sport club ‘Megasphera’, national exhibitions of the
fraternity, round-table discussion and demonstration of a movie were also organized by the

IV All-Russian distant scientific and research conference ‘Socio-oriented management in
the context of globalization’ was organized by the Department of Management, Faculty of
Economics. Main topics of discussion at the conference were current tendencies and issues in
the development of socio-oriented management on the examples of companies in Russia, CIS
and other foreign countries.
I International open student beauty contest ‘Miss Asso-
ciation of International Students of Moscow -2015’ took
place at RUDN University. Members of the RUDN Universi-
ty Interclub studios and creative groups, e.g. Ellina Orlova,
Mary Nzhipuakuo, Zhak Bileng from Preobrazhenie stu-
dio; Bris Fuako and Raymond Pardamean academic vocal
studio, ensemble ‘Rhythms of friendship’, dancing teams
of fraternities of Ecuador and Cote D’Ivoire participated in the beauty contest ‘Miss AIS-2015’.
The goal of the contest was to develop the sense of beauty and respect towards another culture
among the young generation representatives. The winner of the contest was Inna Barabash, a
student of Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MGSU).

Round-table session‘Medical worker-2015’was held at RUDN University for the students of the
Medical Institute. The main topics of discussion were the current matters and issues of modern
medicine.
IV Annual scientific and practical conference of young researchers ‘World tendencies and
perspectives of innovation economy development’, organized by the Department of economic
and mathematical modelling, was held at the Faculty of Economics at RUDN University. The
conference was aimed to stimulate scientific and research interest among RUDN University
graduates (Bachelor and Master students), postgraduates, young scientists, to develop their
communicative skills and professional expertise that would help them to become successful in
the changing environment of innovative economy.
RUDN University hosted XIX All-Russian scientific and theoretical
conference ‘Wars and military conflicts in the history of Russia:
dedicated to the 70th
Anniversary of WWII Victory’. Department
of the Russian history of the Department of humanities and
social sciences, Inter-University Research Centre of comparative
historical and anthropological research and the Scientific and
Educational Centre for the CIS studies provided great support in
the organization of the conference. Almost 100 people including scientists and academicians
from more than 40 scientific centres and universities from the RF regions, Moscow and CIS
countries participated in the conference.
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the French Republic
in the Russian Federation, Mr. Jean-Maurice Ripert gave an open lecture
‘The foreign policy of France in the field of environment and sustainable
development’ at RUDN University. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
Ambassador of Gabonese Republic in the Russian Federation, Mr. Rene
Makongo also participated in the meeting.
Scientific conference ‘Understanding the meaning of the Soviet
Union Victory in the World War II’. The conference was dedicated
to the 70th
Anniversary of the Great Victory. The conference was
aimed to discuss the role of the Yalta and Potsdam Conference
Agreement in the peaceful settlement of the conflict, to analyze
the events that determined the victory over the Nazi Germany,
major results and lessons learnt in the context of the events in the
today’s world history, to protect the memory of the role of nations in Russia in the Victory over
the Fascists. The conference was attended by veterans, RUDN University workers, such as Ivan
Mikhailovich Panin, Boris Efimovich Zaycev, Yakov Alekseevich Lomko, Alexander Abramovich
Levi, Anatoly Sergeevich Protopopov.
RUDN University hosted a Contest in the fields of humanities, social sciences and economics,
science, medicine and biology and technical studies among schoolchildren of 7-10th
grades
from Moscow and Moscow region schools ‘Science in the school world’. The conference was
aimed to create objective conditions, which would encourage development of intellectual
creativity by involving children in the scientific and research environment from an early age and
demonstrate the work of secondary institutions in organizing research and project-oriented
activities for schoolchildren. RUDN University leading experts participated in the conference
and evaluated the works of the schoolchildren. Schoolchildren then displayed their knowledge
in the field of studies, experiment management skills, data collection, analysis and conclusion
drawing. The winners of the contest in each field of studies were awarded with Diplomas I,II,III
degrees, cups and RUDN University souvenirs, the rest received Certificates of Attendance. Book
with project annotations (E-version), which included all the projects and presentations made by
the schoolchildren, was in open access after the conference was held.
China held a number of events dedicated to the 55th
Anniversary of RUDN University. RUDN
University, Chinese Alumni Association of the former USSR and the CIS, RUDN University friends
and Rossotrudnichestvo in Peoples’Republic of China took responsibility over the organizational

with the authorities, rectors, society’ was held at RUDN University. There were plenary and

participants could discuss and contemplate over several matters: student council activities, their
interaction with civilians and authorities.
IV International conference‘BRICS: cooperation for development.
Science. Education. Business’ took place. Main topics of discus-
sion were ‘BRICS and global challenges today’, ‘Business – bullet
points of start-ups’,‘Role of BRICS in global management and in-
ternational finances’,‘Science, education, innovations – 3 goals of
BRICS’, ‘BRICS Network University: creation’. Moreover, they eval-
uated the opportunities to provide sustainable growth of BRICS
countries; established consolidated suggestions in concern with the development of informa-
tional, educational and scientific and research areas within BRICS; worked out recommenda-
tions on strategic spheres of development.
RUDN University delegation headed by the Head of De-
partment for work with alumni, V.V. Chetiy participated in
the official ceremony of laying the foundation stone and,
thus, contributed to the foundation of the pavilion ‘Africa’
in the ethno-graphic museum‘Ethnomir’. RUDN University
delegation consisted of undergraduate and postgraduate
students from more than 40 countries. The current event
was one of many organized within the I international conference‘Russia and Africa. Key partner-
ship’. During the conference representatives of social and political organizations, businesses and
science from Russia and African countries discussed perspectives of international cooperation in
the spheres of politics, economics, business, education, culture, tourism.
RUDN University team won in the final of the Moscow
Rugby-15 Championship among universities on the pro-
gram of the XXVII Moscow Student Sports Games. The fi-
nal game of the student rugby championship took place at
the MSU stadium. In the last round our team defeated the
Financial University team with a score of 109:0. RUDN Uni-
versity Rugby Club expressed great appreciation and grati-
tude to the fans for supporting the team.
II Russian-Lebanese scientific medical conference ‘Medicine-2’ took place in Beirut. The confer-
ence was devoted to the issues of cardiology. Organizers of the conference were the Lebanese
RUDN University Alumni Association in cooperation with the Alumni Association of Soviet and
Russian Universities in Lebanon. It was also supported by the Lebanese Government, Lebanese
Ministry of Public Health, Lebanese Order of Physicians (LOP), Lebanese Society of Cardiology
and RUDN University. The conference was aimed to create more versatile network among Leb-
anese and Russian medical workers, to strengthen ties among the alumni and scientific clubs of
both Russian and Lebanese medical universities. More than 200 medical workers and scientists,
as well as Russian and Lebanese social and political figures participated in the conference. During
the conference the participants presented papers and research projects. A book with Conference
proceedings was published after the conference.
Academic Boards of RUDN University faculties and institutes
held graduation ceremonies for Bachelor, Master students
and specialists in different fields of studies. Heads of depart-
ments, honored guests, graduates and their relatives and
friends, all participated in the official graduation ceremony.

consisted of Prof. Hirotomo Teranisi, Vice-Rector for in-
ternational activity, Prof. Mitsuru Eguti (Kobayashi),

ment, Stella Sivakova, professor at the Department of
the Russian language, S. Sasaki, professor of the De-
partment of the Russian language, Director of the De-
partment for international relations Soka Gakai, as well
as Mr. Sugiyama Tamotsu and his deputy Mr. Hajime Mizushima. RUDN University Rector V.M.
Filippov welcomed the delegation at RUDN University.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged their opinions on the forms and areas of cooperation.
In particular, V.M. Filippov suggested using the Centre of the Russian language at the Soka Uni-
versity as a ground for carrying out courses of Russian as a foreign language and courses of Rus-
sian for businessmen for upgrading skills of the Japanese teachers.The parties agreed to work on
the initiative to hold in turns an international conference on the issues of a dialogue between the
civilizations in Japan and Russia.
RUDN University Rector V.M. Filippov suggested creating a team of students from the Philologi-
cal faculty and the Faculty of humanities and social sciences who would study the Japanese lan-
guage. Considering the last suggestion, the parties also considered the possibility that the Soka
University would provide support in teaching the Japanese language to RUDN University stu-
dents as well as training RUDN University academic staff to teach Japanese at RUDN University.
Institute of applied technical and economic research and expertise held an Open Doors Day. The
Open Doors Day was attended by the representatives of the Russian Federal Space Agency (Ros-
cosmos) and Rostec Corporation and many other corporations-partners such as Central Mechan-
ical Engineering Research Institute, Russian space systems Corp., JSC ‘Technomash’, Concern Mo-
rinsis-Agat JSC, SC Recod and others.
Boat trips on the Moskva River were organized for RUDN University graduates. The boat-trips be-
came a good tradition and an integral part of the graduation ceremony. Socializing with teach-
ing and academic staff in an informal environment and a friendly atmosphere will always remain
in the memories of RUDN University graduates.
RUDN University together with the Student Russian Sports
Clubs Association held a ceremonial event dedicated to the
2nd Anniversary of the Student Russian Sports Clubs Associ-
ation (SSCA). In the morning, students from different univer-
sities of Moscow gathered at the RUDN University main sta-
dium where they successfully passed the ‘SSCA Studzachet
in Russia’ and participated in the competitions in street-ball,
volley-ball, table games and other types of sport. In the after-
noon, a meeting of the SSCA Discussion Club was held in the conference hall of the RUDN Univer-
sity Faculty of Economics. Special guests were Fedor and Dmitry Chudinov, professional boxers,
masters of sport with worldwide fame, Alexander Myasnikov, eminent historian, writer, chief con-
sultant at exhibition‘My history. The Rurikovichs’and‘The Romanovs’, Mikhail Porechenkov, the-
atre and film actor, Aleksey Ogurtsov, actor and producer, Igor Ogurtsov, one of the main char-

RUDN University held 12th
International conference on gravitation, astrophysics and cosmology
‘ICGAC-12’. The conference was organized by the Russian gravitational society in cooperation
with the Centre of gravitation and fundamental metrology and Laboratory of theoretical physics
(Dubna). Current research topics in physics and astronomy, such as the latest achievements in
the field of gravity, cosmology and astrophysics, models of a grand unified theory, super-string
theory and M-theory, dark matter and dark energy, black holes and wormholes, gravitational
experiments and fundamental physical constant, were discussed at the conference where
famous Russian and foreign scientists and young specialists participated.
For the third time the RUDN University hosted the Summer
School for the graduates of the European School of Universi-
ty Education and Businesses «Eseune» (Spain).This year it was
the representatives of Venezuela, Spain, Argentina and Ger-
many, who participated in the IFL training program ‘Intercul-
tural Dialogue - East and West’. RUDN University IFL teaching
staff gave a series of lectures in English, touching upon the
basic aspects of intercultural communication, culture, histo-
ry and economy of Russia.
Plastic dance studio Isadora presented their new performance ‘Return of Apollo’. The concert
took place in the Interclub concert hall.
An Agreement on cooperation between the Cadiz University and Peoples’Friendship University
of Russia was signed. Eduardo Gonzalez Mazo, the Rector of the Cadiz university, attended
the meeting in person, RUDN University was presented by N.F. Mikheeva, the Head of the
Department of Foreign languages, Philological Faculty. The agreement is aimed to stimulate
cooperation in the sphere of science between the two countries.
Samsung Electronics held a solemn ceremony devoted to the All-Russian contest ‘IT School
chooses the best’during which the contestants defended their projects and the winners were
announced. The project was initiated to meet the Russian government request to educate
and train perspective engineering technicians, including schoolchildren from professionally
oriented classes, and engage them in the area of IT-innovations. Three nominations were
announced: ‘Game application’, ‘Social project’ and ‘Programming’. The main criteria of the
contest were functionality, technical feasibility, usability and design. The 500 participants
were all awarded with Certificates; 5% of participants (aged 15-16) received Certificates of
Excellence. Some of the 8th
grade schoolchildren also received Certificates of Excellence. About
80% of the schoolchildren, who had taken the course in IT, wanted to study IT in future. The
quality of training of the IT School graduates is highly appreciated by the Russian universities.
The Certificate of Excellence holders will receive additional points when applying to RUDN
University.
Vocal studio ‘Preobrazhenie’ organized a concert ‘Hello, summer!’ for the RUDN University
construction team ‘Meridian of friendship’. The concert took place at the RUDN University
Interclub concert hall.

(ILEI) took place in the city of Ostend (Belgium). The solemn
ceremony was held at the Ostend City Hall and was attended by
many local public figures. Within the program of the conference
there were 200 lectures, presentations and round tables held,
during which the participants could discuss matters of teaching
Esperanto.

30 schoolchildren, children of RUDN University graduates
from Lebanon, arrived on the third shift to the Children’s
health camp ‘Uventa’. Schoolchildren from Jordan joined
the Camp on July, 21. It’s been several years since, in
accordance with the cooperation program between the
RUDN University and Association of Russian (Soviet) Alumni,
delegation of Lebanese and Jordanian schoolchildren aged
10-16 participate in the International Summer Camp‘Uventa’
in Moscow.
However, the Lebanese and Jordanian schoolchildren did not only enjoy themselves at the
camp, but also traveled around Moscow and visited all the historical places, walked in the
VDNKh park and enjoyed a breathtaking performance at the Circus on the Tsvetnoy Boulevard.
Folklore studio Raduga invited friends to the gala-night‘Hurrah! Holidays! Singing for you!’. The
concert took place at the Interclub concert hall.
International student construction team ‘Meridian of
friendship’ held the annual Contest ‘Miss Construc-
tion team-2015’. Orfei vocal studio also participated in
the contest. The contestants displayed their talents and
proved that not only the beautiful but also the smartest,
the funniest, the most intelligent and the most charming
ladies join the RUDN University construction team. The
winner of the contest ‘Miss Construction team-2015’ was
Asigvi Cherri.
XI International Folklore Festival ‘Crystal key-2015’ took place in Sartakovo. The soloists of the

II Forum of Foreign graduates of Russian universities was
hosted by RUDN University. Among participants were for-
eign graduates from 40 Russian universities including RUDN

III International school for young scientists RACIRI took place
at RUDN University and was attended by RUDN University
students and academic staff of the Faculty of Science. The
Summer School is one of projects organized by the joint
Russian-German Ioffe-Roentgen Institute and Röntgen-
Ångström Cluster coordinated by the National Research
Centre‘Kurchatov Institute’(Russia), DESY (Germany) and the
Swedish Research Council.
Shooting of the KVN TV show with participation of its
graduates took place in the summer theatre in the Frunze
Park in Sochi. It was the first time when the most popular in
the history of KVN graduate teams met on one stage.The best
teams in the history of KVN are the Champions of the Highest
League of the KVN International Union, i.e. Sbornaya Rudn
(RUDN University team) (Moscow), ‘Utomlennie solncem’
(Sochi),‘Maximum’(Tomsk) and‘Narodi Abkhazii’.
Mr. Atul Khare, UN Under-Secretary-General, visited RUDN
University. During his visit, Mr. Atul Khare held a meeting
with V.M. Filippov (RUDN University Rector). He also met
RUDN University students and shared with them his career
experience.
In the hall of the RUDN University main building, Mr.
Khare was warmly welcomed by a multinational student
delegation. Altogether, they carried out a photo session after
which Mr. Khare was invited to visit the RUDN University Rector V.M. Filippov at his office. At the
meeting, matters of cooperation with RUDN University and Department of field support (UN)
were discussed.
During his meeting with RUDN University students and teachers, Mr. Khare announced that the
main goal of the UN is to provide peace and security in the world, however, it’s not always easy
to achieve. The Department of field support
is having issues in regulating complicated cases.The topic of discussion captivated the audience
and created a constructive dialogue between the speaker and the audience. Mr. Khare enjoyed
answering all the questions of the audience. The meeting ended with the Rector’s speech in
which he expressed gratitude to the guest for his visit and awarded Mr. Khare with a memorable
souvenir decorated with a traditional Russian ornament.
RUDN University hosted Moscow Teachers’ Forum «The
professional teacher standards». The organizers were the
Moscow Unified Independent Teachers Association (UITA)
and RUDN University (Faculty of Economics) with the support
of Moscow Department of Education.
It has become a nice tradition to hold this meeting every year
just before the start of a new academic year when everyone
anyhow connected with education can take part in the open discussions of the most current
matters of education.
In 2015, the main topics of discussion are as follows: the functions and the status of workers
of educational institutions in the context of new teaching standards implementation; inclusive
education; patterns of the major educational programs and concepts of teaching some subjects;
changes in the system of mid-term and final examination; system of educational institutions
rating; strategies in educational work; educational institutions network and inter-network
cooperation; development of close school-university ties.

Annual Matriculation ceremony took place at RUDN University.
The RUDN University administration congratulated the fresh-
men with a new stage in their life, which is a bit rocky but also
very exciting, it is a step into adulthood. The deans of faculties,
directors of institutes, Vice-Rectors, honored guests delivered
speeches, gave advice and shared ideas with the freshmen.
Each department prepared their own ceremonial program, an integral part of which was award-
ing the freshmen with the symbolic‘Key to knowledge’. The most active students participated in
the Moscow Student Parade, which is believed to be the starting point in the university life.
Isadora studio performers participated in the workshops and gala-con-
certs, including Dancing on the beach and Principle of Apollo, at the festi-
val ofTerpsichore inTauris -VI, which took place in the‘Tauric Chersonese’
National Nature Reserve. The RUDN University Interclub Isadora studio
participation was highly recognized by the Department of Culture of the
city of Sevastopol.
The solemn ceremony of the Student Project ‘University Satur-
days’took place at RUDN University.
The present educational project for schoolchildren, students
and adults was launched in Moscow in September 2013. RUDN
University hosted the project in January 2014. Thus, there were
many events organized then, e.g. lectures, seminars, workshops,
excursions, which were held not only on Saturdays, but also on
weekdays.The project implemented different approaches and engaged a big audience. As an ex-
ample, there were programs for pre-school and junior school kids, which could be attended by
an individual, a group or the whole family.
In 2015, RUDN University launched a contest for the‘Best participant of RUDN University Univer-
sity Saturdays 2015/2016’. The most active and eager participants could get‘likes’for their atten-
dance and active participation. The winners of the contest will be announced at the closing cere-
mony and awarded with cups, certificates and cinema tickets.
Final games of the mini-World Cup‘Rector’s Cup-2015’were held at the main stadium of Sport and
recreation centre, RUDN University. The Golden Cup went to the team of students from Senegal,
the 2nd
were the team from Nigeria and the third were the team of students from Cote D’Ivoire.
Annual Festival of Youth Initiative ‘To Alma Mater, to the city,
to the country’ dedicated to the celebration of the Moscow
City Day, was held at RUDN University. The festival was de-
voted to the members of the International Student Construc-
tion team‘Meridian of friendship’. Despite the cloudy weather,
thousands of guests visited the festival. There were exhibi-
tions of RUDN University fraternities, the concert, shooting
activities, bouncy castles and football matches taking place
at the festival.
International tournament in mini-football ‘1000 days be-
fore the start of the World Cup’ came to the end. Everything
was perfectly organized. The tournament was organized by
the Student Sport centre ‘Druzhba’, RUDN University admin-
istration, Association of Russian Student Sport Clubs. On the
last day of the tournament all the participants were given
a unique opportunity to take exams on all standards of the
‘Ready for Labour and Defense’ program. The stadium was full of people since the very morn-
ing as there turned out to be many people who were willing to try themselves in RLD exams. The
most captivating were the final matches for the 1st

Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia participated in the Educational Forum ‘Admissions Nav-
igator – 2015’. It was a big event when schoolchildren and their parents had the opportunity to
learn more about the rules of Unified State Examinations and the best Moscow universities they
could apply to. RUDN University representatives prepared a big interactive presentation for the
visitors and shared a ‘lot of secrets’ which would help the schoolchildren to pass the admission
examinations. It was the first time when schoolchildren and their parents received the support of
educational experts in the very beginning the academic year.
RUDN University delegation headed by the First Vice-Rector,
E.L. Schesnyak and Rector’s Advisor V.V.Timoshek visited Ethi-
opia. The trip was initiated on the occasion of the 55th
Anni-
versary of RUDN University. During their visit, the RUDN Uni-
versity delegation participated in a solemn ceremony with
the RUDN University Alumni and paid a visit to the Russian
cultural centre. The RUDN University delegation also carried
out negotiations with the administration of Addis Ababa Science and Technology University,
which resulted in signing an Agreement on cooperation between the universities. More to this,
RUDN University delegation also carried out negotiations with the University of Gondar, which
resulted in an agreement on initiating negotiations and academic exchange.
XIV International conference ‘Low waste and resource-saving, environmental technologies in
mining’ was held in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan). The conference was organized by the Department of
Oil-field Geology, Mining and Oil-gas Engineering, Engineering Faculty, RUDN University in co-
operation with the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B.N. Yeltsin. There were more
than 700 people at the conference who came to participate in discussion on the current issues of
geology and ecology. A book with conference proceedings was published after the conference.
RUDN University hosted a scientific and research confer-
ence ‘Current issues of counter extremist and counter ter-
rorist youth education’. The aim of the conference was to
discuss and share experience in preventive education, de-
fine key areas, which shall be improved in order to increase
effectiveness of the preventive measures in the educational
environment in modern Russia.
RUDN University Tourist Club participated in the tourist rally
‘Nights over the Volga’. 250 students from Moscow, Saint Pe-
tersburg,Volga region, Ural and Siberia, as well as from Central
regions of Russia decided to try themselves in camping. The
organizers prepared surprises for the participants of the tour-
ist rally, such as educational and cultural programs including
meetings with famous travelers and a great number of com-
petitions and contests.
The Days of Culture were held by the Ukrainian students at
RUDN University who displayed national exhibitions of the
fraternity in all the RUDN University buildings. Ukrainian
students also held a Tasty Festival during which they dis-
played traditional Ukrainian dishes. The tastiest of the
dishes were borsch, verguns and dripping. A number of
other activities were also organized, such as demonstra-
tion of the movie ‘Battle for Sevastopol’, intellectual game
on the history and culture of Ukraine. The day ended with the gala-concert with participation of
fraternity members and other RUDN University performers. Moreover, in cooperation with the
Charity Fund the RUDN University students invited Donbass children, who were then on a reha-
bilitation trip in Moscow, to attend the Days of Ukrainian culture at RUDN University.

Supported by the Russian Government, the International Exhibi-
tion Centre ‘Crocus Expo’ hosted International specialized exhi-
bition‘Import-substitution’. One of the first visitors of the exhibi-
tion were D.A. Medvedev, the Head of the Russian Government,
D.V. Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Fed-
eration, A.V. Dvorkovich, Deputy Head of the Government of the
Russian Federation. RUDN University took an active part in the
exhibition and displayed significant achievements in the sphere of pharmaceutics and biotech-
nology (Centre of collective use in RUDN University, Abramovich R.A.) as well as latest results
in engineering and architecture (Engineering Faculty, RUDN University, S.M. Khalabi). Director
of the Centre of collective use in RUDN University, Abramovich R.A. delivered a speech at the
round-table on the topic‘Import substitution in medical and pharmaceutical industries’.
An Italian political expert and journalist Giulietto Chiesa held a meet-
ing with RUDN University students and discussed ‘The future of de-
mocracy. What can be instead of catastrophe’. The organizers of the
meeting were the RUDN University Centre of Historic Expertise and
State Forecasting in cooperation with the ‘Russia Tomorrow’ project
and GosIndex analytics portal. The famous public activist and for-
mer member of the European Parliament attracted the attention of
more than 400 people, including RUDN University students, academic staff and RUDN Universi-
ty friends. The speaker discussed the most important topics: immigration in Europe, war in Syria,
sanctions of the West against Russia. Mr. Chiesa was very happy to visit RUDN University and en-
joyed talking to RUDN University students. He noted that the students asked very precise and im-
portant questions and said that he would love to come and visit RUDN University again.
MinistryofeducationandscienceoftheRFhelda3-dayAll-Rus-
sian meeting‘Characteristic aspects of educational process or-
ganization for the students with limited abilities in different
universities’ which was organized by the Peoples’ Friendship
University of Russia. The first day the participants discussed
the experience of regional universities in providing psycholog-
ical and pedagogical advice to the students who were having
issues with perceiving educational material. They also discussed the models of financial support
in order to create special conditions in the educational environment for kids with limited abilities.
More than 280 people participated in the discussion including experts from the educational gov-
ernment institutions, heads of educational institutions, heads and experts of continuing educa-
tion for kids, experts from psychological and pedagogical advice centres, etc.

Upon the initiative of the European Commission, Rudn University held a Meeting of the Rudn
National Information Centre on academic recognition and mobility with the representatives of
the European Network of National Information Centre on academic recognition and mobility.
The participants of the meeting discussed implementation of the Convention on the recogni-
tion of Qualifications concerning Higher Education in the European Region (also known as Lis-
bon Convention ).
RUDN University KVN Semi-final games took place in the as-
sembly hall of the RUDN University main building. The par-
ticipants were the teams of ‘Assortiment’ (unified team of the
Faculty of the humanities and social sciences and Medical In-
stitute),‘Chistie Prudi’(unified team of the Philological Faculty,

RUDN University hosted an Open Doors Day. As it usually hap-
pens, a great number of people arrived to visit RUDN University.
School-leavers and their parents had the opportunity to meet the
RUDN University administration, deans of faculties and directors of
institutes, learn more about fields of studies and programs offered
at RUDN University, terms and conditions, student life and perspec-
tives of career development of RUDN University graduates.
National exhibition of students from Iraq took place in the hall
of the RUDN University main building. Ambassador Extraordi-
nary and Plenipotentiary of Iraq in RF, Dr. Ismail Shafiq Muhsin
and Vice-Rector for work with students A.D. Gladush delivered
speeches at the official opening ceremony of the exhibition. Na-
tional souvenirs, costumes, books, booklets, catalogs and other
attributes of the Iraqi culture were displayed at the exhibition.

Open Doors Day took place in the RUDN University Interclub. In the
morning there was a concert organized by the RUDN University Inter-
club, later that day the freshmen were offered to join inter-quest (ad-
venture game). 13 teams from 13 RUDN University faculties and insti-
tutes participated in the adventure game. The inter-quest included
13 activities. The winner of the inter-quest was the team of the Engi-
neering Faculty.
RUDN University Delegation visited the Mohammed V University in Rabat, University Hassan II
Mohammedia-Casablanca (UH2MC), University of al-Qarawiyyin in Fes, Morocco. During their
visit, the RUDN University delegation visited the above-mentioned universities and held nego-
tiations, which resulted in signing framework agreements on cooperation and work programs.
The parties also agreed to support each other in launching new language courses at their uni-
versities. Moreover, they agreed to develop bilateral cooperation between the universities and
launch student mobility and academic exchange programs.
A famous American researcher, former member of the US State
Department, William Blum held a meeting with RUDN University
students. Mr. Blum is the winner of the Project Censored award for
his outstanding contribution to journalism. Since 1960-s he has
been criticizing the US foreign policy. He is the author of numer-
ous books and articles discussing the official position of theWhite
House. Two of his most popular books, ‘Killing Hope: U.S. Military
and CIA Interventions Since World War II’and‘America’s Deadliest Export: Democracy - The Truth
About US Foreign Policy and Everything Else’, were translated into Russian and published by the
Foreign Policy research and initiatives Institute. The language of the meeting was English. Mr.
Blum shared with students how it feels to be non-conformist in the USA and what the American
experiments in democracy can result in.
RUDN University acted as a co-organizer of X Festival of Science
NAUKA 0+, which took place in more than 80 sites in Moscow. The
festival, hosted by RUDN University, attracted a very diverse au-
dience. The main aims of the festival were to introduce and get
children, teenagers, students closer to science, to explain to them
what researchers do, how much research projects can improve
our life and to demonstrate the perspectives of the science in Rus-
sia. RUDN University Rector, V.M. Filippov and many other honored guests delivered speeches
at the solemn ceremony, after which the Interclub performers presented some of their perfor-
mances. The festival visitors enjoyed interactive expositions presented by RUDN University fac-
ulties and institutes, posters made by RUDN University partners, scientific show ‘Planetarium’;
they could also visit RUDN University museum and research and academic centre, participate
in contests and competitions. Moreover, some watched movies, winners of the III International
Film Festival on Science and Technology 360°; whereas, others attended the lectures given by
the leading Russian experts and professors in various fields of studies.
RUDN University hosted a Culture week of students from Ecua-
dor. During the week, students organized the following events:
tournament in mini-football, national exhibitions. Moreover,
they showed an Ecuadorian movie, organized a festival of tra-
ditional Ecuadorian cuisine‘Tasty festival’and held a gala-con-
cert in the assembly hall.
Ecological Faculty (RUDN University) hosted the Human Resources Development School‘Devel-
opment of science as a way to achieve sustainable development’. The School was organized by
the International Centre for Environmental Education, V. I. Vernadsky Non-Governmental Eco-
logical Foundation and RUDN University Ecological Faculty.

RUDN University hosted an International seminar ‘Exchange of
experience in the application of the 1980 Convention on the Civ-
il Aspects of International Child Abduction and the 1996 Con-
vention on Jurisdiction, Applicable Law, Recognition, Enforce-
ment and Cooperation In Respect of Parental Responsibility and
Measures for Protection of Children’.
RUDN University Rector V.M. Filippov was awarded with a Medal for the
help in the organization of Network cooperation aimed to create a Rus-
sian-Transnistria Consortium of universities. The award ceremony took
place at the meeting of the Academic Council of the Shevchenko Transn-
istria State University on the matters of Russian-Transnistria Consortium of
universities at Russian State University for the Humanities.
RUDN University hosted a presentation of historical, law and culture dictionaries in 8 languages:
Tajik, Uzbek, Kyrgyz, Moldavian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean and Turkish. The dictionaries will
be sent to the testing centres located in Russia and abroad, as well as to Federal Migration Ser-
vice centres of all territorial entities of RF.
RUDN University in cooperation with the Samsung Electronics com-
pany organized a conference ‘Teaching Schoolchildren computing
and software development ’. The main papers delivered at the con-
ference were ‘Unified State Examination in computer studies. Plans
for 2016’presented by Mikhail Abramovich Roitberg, member of the
Federal Committee for Unified State Examination and Information
and Communication Technologies, Head of the Laboratory for Applied Mathematics, RAS Insti-
tute of Mathematical Problems of Biology; ‘Experience in teaching Java in secondary school’ by

RUDN University hosted International scientific and research conference ‘Comparative law and
issues of private law regulations in Russia and abroad’. The conference was organized by the
RUDN University Institute of Law in commemoration of Prof. V.S. Puchinsky. The daughter of
Prof. Puchinsky, E.V. Kudryavtseva, Dr. in Law, professor of the Department of Civil Procedure at
MSU attended the conference.
RUDN University hosted a Week of culture of students from Cote D’Ivoire. During the Culture
week RUDN University students organized the following events: a tournament in mini-foot-
ball, national exhibitions, solemn opening ceremony concert and a conference ‘Current Issues
of Cote D’Ivoire’. They also demonstrated a movie about Cote D’Ivoire and held a gala-concert.
Philological Faculty initiated VI All-Russian scientific and research
conference ‘Mass media in multipolar world: issues and perspec-

The University held culture days of students from Bolivia. In
the frame of the culture days RUDN University students orga-
nized a national exhibition and a festival of traditional Bolivi-
an cuisine‘Tasty Festival’, demonstrated a Bolivian movie and
held a gala-night in the RUDN University assembly hall.
RUDN University hosted scientific and research conference
‘Subject-oriented education in modern Russian schools’.
RUDN University invited teachers of secondary schools, vo-
cational schools, psychologists who specialize in subject-ori-
ented education and pre-profile training, undergraduate and
post-graduate students who study pedagogy and psycholo-
gy to join the conference. All conference participants (schoolteachers, psychologists, young re-
searchers) agreed that psychological and pedagogical assistance should be an integral part in
subject-oriented education.
Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), Lomonosov Moscow State Univer-
sity, RUDN University and Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys hosted the BRICS Global Univer-
sity Summit. More than 400 representatives from the leading BRICS universities, international
organizations and research centres participated in the Summit. The participants of the Sum-
mit discussed both educational issues and matters of academic mobility, educational migra-
tion, university ratings, as well as the organization of consortiums. They also agreed that edu-
cation shall be open and available for everyone, and considered distance education as one of
the options. In particular, the participants of the Summit focused on the BRICS Network Uni-
versity matters.
RUDN University administration, deans of faculties, institute directors and representatives of
research and scientific centres expressed their views and delivered their speeches at the Sum-
mit.
RUDN University hosted the II Scientific and Research Conference‘Current issues of counter ex-
tremist and counter terrorist youth education’. The aim of the conference was to discuss and
share experience in preventive education, define key areas, which shall be improved in order
to increase effectiveness of the preventive measures in the educational environment in mod-
ern Russia.’
Forum of CIS scientists took place in Moscow. More than 300 researchers gathered together
at the Forum, which was organized by the Ministry of education and science of the RF and the
Federal Agency for CIS. Among the organizers of the Forum were also CIS Executive commit-
tee, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Federal Agency for Scientific Organiza-
tions, Russian Academy of Sciences, RUDN University, Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys, Mos-
cow Aviation Institute and other universities, scientific organizations and foundations in Russia.
The goal of the Forum was to demonstrate achievements, development approaches and inno-
vative technologies and to receive feedback from young Russian and foreign scientists. The FO-
RUM was aimed to serve a common academic and educational platform for researchers to meet
and collaborate.

RUDN University hosted International Forum ‘Russian innova-
tive technology and the world market’. The Russian Deputy Prime
Minister Dmitry Rogozin, representatives of State corporations
Roscosmos and ‘Rostec’ and some foreign Embassies attended
the Forum.
The main aim of the Forum was to discuss ways of introducing
high-technological equipment, produced by the Russian space
rocket industry enterprises, to the world market.
More than 80 foreign diplomats participated in the Forum. Representative of the China National

RUDN University hosted All-Russian Geographical dictation.
588 people participated in the dictation including 385 stu-
dents, 101 schoolchildren, 92 experts in geography, 10 pen-
sioners. The topic of the dictation was‘My country is Russia’.
The questions were read by a famous theatre and cinema ac-
tress,TV and radio hostYana Poplavskaya and a journalist, au-
thor and host of ‘Citizen of the World’ on My Planet TV Chan-
nel, Andrey Ponkratov. The dictation helped to assess the
level of geographical knowledge of all citizens of our country. The results will be taken into con-
sideration by the experts in the development of educational programs.
All-Russian Geographical dictation was organized by the Russian Geographical Society, which
celebrated its 170th
Anniversary in 2015. The All-Russian Geographical dictation Project was initi-
ated by the Chairman of the Society’s Board ofTrustees,Vladimir Putin.The project was first intro-
duced at the XV Congress of the Russian Geographical Society and was immediately welcomed
by the Society. The Russian Geographical Society received a great number of applications from
the Russian citizens to participate in the Dictation.
The University held Culture days of students from Antigua and Barbuda. RUDN University stu-
dents held a national exhibition displaying national attributes and souvenirs in the hall of the
RUDN University main building. Next day they organized a gala-concert in the Interclub dis-
co-hall, which turned out to be a great success.
RUDN University hostedV International scientific and research conference‘Architecture and land-
scape - basic platforms for successful urban development’. The conference was organized by the
Agrarian and technological Institute, RUDN University. Experts from all over Russia and other for-
eign countries arrived at RUDN University to participate in the conference.
XIX Meeting of Excellent students from African countries took place in the RUDN University as-
sembly hall, during which the participants of the Meeting were awarded with Diplomas and sou-
venirs.
RUDN University hosted the IV International scientific and re-
search conference ‘Law enforcement and human rights activ-
ities: yesterday, today, tomorrow’. The conference was a great
success among RUDN University teaching and academic staff,
lawyers and attorneys, undergraduate and postgraduate stu-
dents of the Law Faculties of Russian and foreign universities.
The organizers also initiated a contest for the best student proj-
ect. The contest revealed the most promising students, who best displayed their professional.
International Fair ‘Education and Career’, which is the largest inter-
national education exhibition in Russia, took place at RUDN Univer-
sity. All leading Moscow universities, including Peoples’ Friendship
University of Russia, participated in the Fair. Centre of continuing
education ‘Unikum’ represented RUDN University at the Fair. They
held exhibitions, met with schoolchildren and their parents, helped
the schoolchildren to choose their future field of studies, promot-
ed RUDN University explaining the guests the advantages of study-
ing here.
The University held Culture days of students from Angola. During
the Culture days students held national exhibitions of the frater-
nity, a tournament in mini-football and a conference‘40 years of
National Independence of the Republic of Angola: results, ten-
dencies and perspectives’ and demonstrated an Angolan mov-
ie in the Interclub assembly hall. Representatives of the Embassy
of the Republic of Angola in Russia were invited to attend the ga-
la-concert, which was also organized by RUDN University students.

XL Meeting of RUDN University Excellent Students took place
at RUDN University. The Meeting was attended by honored
guests including the Director of the Research Institute of
Emergency Children’s Surgery and Traumatology, President of
the Foundation in providing medical and social care and reha-
bilitation to children with severe trauma and its consequenc-
es, DSc, professor L.M. Roshal, Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Russia Hung Nguyen and pi-
lot-cosmonaut A.A. Misurkin. 12 Excellent students were awarded with I Degree Diplomas of the
Student Research Council for their achievements in science. 9 Excellent Students received Diplo-
mas of the Student Research Council and testimonials for their active social work. However, the
best prize was to come in the end. Hyundai Solaris Lottery was raffled then. The winner of the

RUDN University hosted International scientific and research conference‘Soft power and cultural
diplomacy in the XXI century’. The conference was organized by the Institute for Strategic Assess-
ments and Forecasts of RUDN University and the Department ofTheory and History of Internation-
al Relations, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, RUDN University.The conference aimed to
establish common grounds in the international expert council on the matters of soft power and
cultural diplomacy in international relations today. The conference was attended by university
rectors, scientists, researchers and teaching staff of the leading universities and research centres
of Moscow and St. Petersburg, representatives of executive and legislative bodies of the Russian
Federation, foreign diplomats, TV companies and cultural centres, journalists. The papers present-
ed at the conference were published in a special edition of the‘Geopolitical journal’.
In the frame of XXVIII Moscow Student Sports Games, chess tournament took place at RUDN
University. During 5 days 8 teams from different universities, including RUDN University, Nation-
al Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE), MSU, National Research Nuclear Uni-
versity MEPhI (Moscow Engineering Physics Institute), Russian State University of Physical Edu-

Another Blood Donor Day took place at RUDN University. Every time
RUDN University organizes this Day a great number of students, teach-
ers and other employees come to donate their blood. This time there
were more than 160 blood donors.
Within the frame of the Ready for labor and defense (or‘GTO’)
program and 54th
University Olympics, Swimming Champion-
ship among faculties and institutes of RUDN University took
place in the RUDN University swimming-pool ‘Yunost’. The
training program was supported by the Ministry of educa-
tion and science. More than 150 students participated in the
Championship. The results of the Championship are as fol-

Within the frame of the Project‘Sculptor Erzia. Beginning of the
eternity’, which was dedicated to the 140th
Birth Anniversary of
Stepan Erzia, RUDN University hosted an Italian night.The event
was organized by the Institute of Foreign languages and S.D.Er-
zia International Art Foundation in cooperation with the Italian
Cultural Institute in Moscow.
The special guest of the Night was Marzia Margherita Dati,
Vice-President of Stepan Erzia Cultural and International Asso-
ciation (Associazione Cultural e Internazionale Stepan Erzia) in
Italy.
RUDN University hosted the VII Inter-University student
festival‘Moscow Made Us Friends’under the motto‘We are
different but we are equal’. The Festival was commemorat-
ed to the International Day of Tolerance and International
Students’Day. Among the participants were RUDN Univer-
sity students from CIS countries and students from Mos-
cow University of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs
named after V. Ya. Kikotya, Gubkin Russian State Universi-
ty of Oil and Gas, Pushkin State Russian Language Institute,
Moscow University of Finance and Law. The visitors could enjoy the food festival ‘Tasty Festival’,
attend exhibitions of RUDN University fraternities and foreign student councils and participate in
the round-table‘Memory for the sake of the future’.
A gala- concert took place in the RUDN University assembly hall. More than 20 student groups
and performers from RUDN University and other universities of SWAD in Moscow participated in
the concert.
Solemn Ceremony of signing the Declaration of the
RUDN University Student Council by the Presidents
of University student organizations took place in
the RUDN University Interclub assembly hall. The
Declaration was signed by 150 presidents of stu-
dent organizations: chairmen of the RUDN Uni-
versity Student Council, RUDN University Campus
Council, Women’s Committee, student committees
of RUDN University faculties and institutes, Hostel Councils, presidents of regional organizations
and fraternities of foreign students and student unions from other territorial entities of the RF.
African discussion club held a meeting‘Security in Africa and fight against the Islamic State (IS) in
the Middle East’at the Faculty of Humanities and Social sciences.
RUDN University celebrated the Ambassador Day and held
a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipo-
tentiary of the State of Palestine to the Russian Federation,
Mr. Abdel Hafiz Nofal.
RUDN University hosted the II International Scientific Inter-disciplinary conference‘Functional as-
pects of intercultural communication and issues in translation’, which was dedicated to the 55th
Anniversary of RUDN University and 18th
Anniversary of Institute of Foreign Languages. The con-
ference was organized by RUDN University Institute of Foreign Languages in cooperation with its
partner, Lille Catholic University (France). The International Forum united scientists and experts
in the spheres of international communication, translation and translation studies, linguistics,
management and PR, pedagogy, psychology, sociolinguistics, educational process development
and business communication from Argentina, Venezuela, Belorussia, Bulgaria, Bolivia, Italy, Ka-
zakhstan, Cuba, Russia, Salvador, Ukraine, France and Switzerland.

International construction team ‘Meridian of Friendship’ meet-
ing took place in the hall of the RUDN University main building.
Students organized a round-table ‘RUDN University ICT: past
and the modern times. Revival of traditions’, held a food festival
‘National cuisines’and a gala-concert.
Vice-Rector for administrative-economic activity G.A. Ermolaev
and vice-Rector for work with students A.D. Gladush delivered
speeches at the concert and awarded the best International construction team members with di-
plomas, badges of‘ICT Worker’, certificates and other presents.
RUDN University hosted XIV All-Russia Olympiad in Rus-
sian as a foreign language. Students from 11 Russian
universities participated in the Olympiad and had to go
through 2 rounds. The first round took place in Novem-
ber, 19. Participants then watched short videos on the
topic of ‘No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten’, after
which they were to write an essay on the video. After the
first round, the participants visited RUDN University Mu-
seum.
Only those participants, who gained the most number of points (in both fields- humanities and
sciences), could take part in the 2nd
round of the Olympiad.
In the 2nd
round the participants had to demonstrate a presentation on the general topic of the
Olympiad and comment on other presentations.
Those, who did not pass to the 2nd
round, could participate in the Contest of presentations.
All the participants of the Olympiad took part in the intellectual game‘What I know about Russia’.
The jury chose the best in both fields of studies (humanities and sciences) and granted them the
awards.
The participants of the Olympiad also organized a concert in November, 20.

Faculty of Humanities and Social sciences hosted VII Interna-
tional scientific and research conference‘Situation in Afghani-
stan and development of regional security in Central Asia’. The
conference was aimed to analyze the situation in Central Asia
in terms of regional security, to understand the whole situa-
tion in Afghanistan and neighbor-countries and to give scien-
tifically based judgment and suggestions on how to stabilize
the situation in the micro-region. Among the participants of the conference were the experts
from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), Russian Institute of Strate-
gic Research (RISR), the North-Western Institute of Management of the Russian Federation Pres-
idential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, the Institute of Oriental Stud-
ies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) and many other universities.
RUDN University hosted the Culture days of students from Yemen. During the Culture days na-
tional exhibitions of the fraternity, a round-table and a gala-night took place in the assembly hall
in the RUDN University Interclub.
The ‘Become the Santa Claus!’ campaign was initiated at
RUDN University. Every year theWomen’s Committee gathers
letters to Santa Claus from orphanages in Vladimirsky region.
Everyone can pick up a letter and buy a present, bring won-

RUDN University Ecological Faculty in cooperation with
Russian Foundation for Basic Research held an Interna-
tional youth scientific and research conference ‘People.
Science. Innovations in the new millennium’. Among
the participants were our colleagues from the following
countries: Azerbaijan, Algeria, Armenia, Bangladesh, Be-
lorussia, Great Britain, Vietnam, Guatemala, Guinea, Zim-
babwe, Egypt, Iran, Italy, Cameroon, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz-
stan, Cote D’Ivoire, Moldova, Mongolia, Nigeria, Syria, Sierra-Leone, Tanzania, Turkmenistan,
Turkey, Ukraine, the Check Republic, Ecuador, Estonia, Spain, Italy, USA, Mexico, Guatemala
and Cuba. The working languages were English, German, French and Spanish. The conference
was aimed to attract young researchers, undergraduate and postgraduate students, Ph.D.
holders and professors. Total number of participants was 200 people. The main goal of the
conference was to discuss and collaborate on the most important issues in ecology, which at-
tract attention of Russian and foreign scientists.
RUDN University hosted the Culture days of students from Mongolia.The students demonstrated
the national attributes at the national exhibitions of the fraternity. They also held a round-table
‘Modern Mongolia: issues and perspectives’, a chess tournament and organized a gala-concert.
Representatives of the Mongolian Embassy in the Russian Federation were invited to the concert.
RUDN University hosted the Day of ‘Journalism’ and ‘PR’
Departments. During this annual solemn ceremony the
best students are awarded for their achievements in the
spheres of journalism and PR. It’s been more than 10
years since it was first initiated. Every year the organiz-
ing committee creates a new concept and new program
for the ceremony. So this year the topic of the Day was
the cinema. The famous Dj’s from the Top radio stations
in Russia attended the ceremony to present awards to the outstanding students.
Celebration on the occasions of the 55th
Anniversary of Peo-
ples’ Friendship University of Russia and Alumni Day took
place in the Russian scientific and cultural centre in Sri-Lanka.
The solemn ceremony was organized by the Sri Lankan Asso-
ciation of Soviet Universities’ Alumni in cooperation with the
representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Sri Lanka and
Sri Lanka – Russia Friendship Society. During their stay, the
RUDN University delegation, Evgeny Martynenko and Victor
Barabash, supported by the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Sri Lanka and Sri Lank-
an Association of Soviet Universities’ Alumni held negotiations with the Ministry of education
and universities and discussed perspectives of cooperation between the universities.
RUDN University Rector Vladimir Filippov held a meeting with the
Minister-Coordinator of Knowledge and Human Talent of the Re-
public of Ecuador Mr. Andres Arauz Galarza. The parties discussed
the current matters and issues of education and perspectives of fu-
ture cooperation.

elected member of the State Scientific Expert Council under the Chair-

RUDN University Medical Institute hosted International sci-
entific and research conference ‘HIV/AIDS prevalence and re-
sponse to the epidemic in Russia and in the world’. The con-
ference covered the following topics: HIV/AIDS prevalence in
Russia and other countries, ways to fight the epidemic in dif-
ferent countries. During the conference a film about the Joint
United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS was demonstrated.
RUDN University students participated in the meeting with
associate professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases S. Voznesensky, the founder and
Executive Director of Phoenix Plus Evgeny Pisemsky, researchers of the Moscow City Center for
Preventing and Fighting AIDS and some representatives of the non-governmental organization
of the HIV-infected.
Russian-French-German conference‘Current issues of im-
migration and access to EU-citizenship. Experience of
Russia, France and Germany’ was organized by the In-
stitute for Linguo-Civilizational and Migration Processes
(ILMP) established by the Russkiy Mir Foundation under
the auspices of the Presidential Administration of Russia,
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Institute of Europe of the Rus-
sian Academy of Sciences (IE RAS) and RUDN University.
During the conference (which consisted of 3 sessions),
leading experts in the sphere of Russian and foreign migration policy discussed issues and new
approaches in external migration and considered the threat and challenges that might occur
respectively; contemplated over refugee matters and access to citizenship and on linguo-civ-
ilizational aspects of integration. The conference served a platform where the experts could
exchange opinions and analyze international migration and integration in the new linguo-civ-
ilizational and confessional environment. The goal of the conference was to work out detailed
guidelines of social and political management.
Institute of Law traditionally held‘Look who has come!’Festival, which was dedicated to the Law-
yer’s Day. RUDN University freshmen created a musical and prepared performances that demon-
strated the daily life of a lawyer.
Dr. Paul Papatanasiu (University of Bordeaux, France) was invited the Faculty of Humanities and
Social sciences to give a lecture to RUDN University students of a joint program ‘Political chal-
lenges of immigration in Europe’(RUDN University-Bordeaux).
RUDN University hosted the most amazing and the most
expected XI International festival ‘Wreath of folk tradi-
tions’. This festival united cultures and traditions from dif-
ferent continents on one stage.This year’s festival themed
‘National games and fun’introduced visitors with the tra-
ditional ceremonies and customs, role plays, national
sport competitions and other kinds of games of many na-
tions. Within the frame of the festival a scientific and re-
search conference was organized when students could
present the latest research projects on customs and traditions of any nation.
The most memorable event of the day was the gala-concert which included presentations of
Romanian New Year’s tradition of Sâmbra oilor (Gathering the sheep), Chinese New Year’s cele-
bration and the Dragon Dance, Serbian Christmas Eve (also called Bozec/Badni Dan) and Tuvan
Naadam Festival; some elements of Albanian and Lebanese wedding traditions and the ‘Trndez’
feast, i.e. the Feast of the Fire (purification) in Armenia, and many other national customs and tra-
ditions.
During the festival representatives of many countries including Albania, Bangladesh, Belorussia,
China, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Nigeria, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan and others demonstrated their na-
tional traditions.

First International video-conference RUDN University- UCA
(University of Cadiz, Spain) took place at RUDN University.The
topic of discussion was the current issues of modern Spanish
studies. The coordinator of the video-conference was Konchi-
ta Garcia-Kaseles, co-ordinator - I.B.Kotenyatkina. University
of Cadiz and RUDN University have long been partners and
established academic cooperation, including cooperation in
BA, MA, postgraduate programs and teaching exchange pro-
grams.
International scientific and research conference‘Communication: international experience’took
place at RUDN University. The working languages were English and Russia. The conference was
organized by the Institute of World Economy and Business (RUDN University) and was devoted
to the new tendencies in the development of international business. Main topics of discussion
were new global opportunities and challenges in international business, decreasing role of
electronic payment and communications control centres, new trends in the modern integrated
communications, intercultural communication and business.
Faculty of Humanities and Social sciences held a concert, which was dedicated to the
Sociologist’s Day. Before the concert started, RUDN University students held a meeting with an
invited speaker from the RAS Institute of Social studies. The faculty students prepared a concert
and special performances for their professors.
III National Annual Forum-Exposition ‘VUZPROM-
EXPO-2015’ took place in Moscow Technopolis. The
exhibition was meant to demonstrate the achieve-
ments and prove high potential of Russian innova-
tive companies. RUDN University joined the team of
the Competitiveness Enhancement Program of Lead-
ing Russian Universities among Global Research and
Education Centers (the 5-100 Project).
RUDN University presented the following products:
- innovative medical products – transdermal patch, fast dissolving oral film and others. (devel-
oped by the Centre for collective use in the sphere of medical research);
- experimental systems and technology laboratory of monitoring and testing soil (developed by
the Agrarian and technological institute RUDN University);
- System of adaptation and preparation of open grounds for the plants-clones produced with mi-
cro-propagation technology (developed by the Agrarian and Technological institute RUDN Uni-
versity and‘Merisystema’LTD.).
RUDN University presented the results of the following research projects:
- Chronobiology. Telemetric monitoring is a perspective method of cardiovascular system di-
agnostics. Mikhail Blagonravov is the Head of Scientific and education laboratory of ‘Functional

Arab Republic to Russia Riad Haddad gave a lecture ‘Open
war against Syria’. The meeting was attended by RUDN

RUDN University hosted a Week of Venezuelan students in Russia‘Great Motherland- Venezuela’.
A football tournament ‘President Nicolas Maduro Cup’ and exhibition, which demonstrated
national traditions, and a solemn gala-concert took place in the Interclub assembly hall.
XI Contest ‘Miss Medical Institute-2015’ took place at
RUDN University. The participants competed in sever-
al categories: ‘Dancing’, ‘Medical gown’, ‘Home-task’. The
winner of the ‘Miss Medical Institute-2015’ Contest was
Svetlana Loginova.‘First Vice-Miss Medical Institute-2015’
was Olga Molchanova. ‘Second Vice-Miss Medical Insti-
tute-2015’was Anna Borisova.
All-Russia Meeting of Testing system for Russian as a For-
eign Language Participants (RKI) took place at RUDN Uni-
versity. More than 400 leading experts in the spheres of
textology and testing, including the Association of Lan-
guage Testers in Europe (ALTE), arrived at RUDN Universi-
ty to participate in the Meeting,
The experts analyzed the results of the first complex ex-
amination and discussed how to improve it. In particu-
lar, they touched upon the regulatory and methodological support required in carrying out the
complex examination in other regions and sources of financial support. They also discussed is-
sues of preparing and training immigrants for Russian language examination and helping them
to adapt in Russia. The participants of the Meeting emphasized the urgency of adopting the law
proposed by the Ministry of Education and Science and Federal Migration Service. The proposed
law was intended to set unique requirements and regulations in the complex examination pro-
cedure; introduce differentiation and succession of complex examination levels; consider both
certificates regional papers that would state that the complex examination has been taken and
passed. Finally, the conference participants believed that the proposed law would solve all the
disputable matters that they came around during the previous year.

fromAsia.DuringtheCultureweek,aroundtable‘Modern
Asia: Issues and tendencies of development’took place at
RUDN University. Students held national exhibitions of
fraternities of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, India,
Indonesia, Iran, Cambodia, China, Korea, Laos, Malaysia,
Mongolia, Nepal, Thailand and Sri-Lanka.
Contest ‘Miss Asia RUDN University -2015’ and a solemn
gala-concert took place on December, 10th. The winner
of the title ‘Miss Asia RUDN University -2015’, Darshike Dasanayake from Thailand, proved to be
the best during the four tours of the contest.
International scientific and research conference ‘Current
tendencies in the development of bilingual education
in Russia and abroad’ took place at RUDN University.
The conference participants could join round tables and
attend presentations of current Russian language teaching
resources for expat children, workshops carried out by
RussianandforeignauthorsoftheRussianlanguageteaching
resources for bilingual expat children. The conference was organized by the Department of
the Russian language and Cross-cultural communication of the Faculty of Humanities and
Social sciences and the Institute of Hospitality Business and Tourism in cooperation with the
Educational centre LTD ‘EDUmediator’ (Georgia, Tbilisi), Philological Faculty of the Vitebsk
State University named after P.M. Masherov (Vitebsk, Belorussia), Department of the Russian
language of Uzbek State University of World Languages (Tashkent, Uzbekistan). Among the
participants were the Russian and foreign experts, university academic and teaching staff who
also had experience in bi/multi-lingual teaching.

University. The Delegation also included the Director of

Director of the Centre for cultural and ethics studies professor Shi Tszili. During the meeting,
the parties exchanged opinions considering the perspectives of future cooperation between
the universities. RUDN University Rector suggested cooperation in the following areas: Russian
language skills upgrade programs for Russian language teachers, Russian language teachers
training program for the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Henan University of Economics
and Law, double degree programs in BA and MA studies. The Chinese delegation suggested
developing academic exchange programs in the field of‘History’in cooperation with the RUDN
University Faculty of Humanities and Social sciences.

Within the frame of the Min-On Global Network project, Rus-
sian-Japanese Friendship Concert ‘Create beauty together’ took
place at RUDN University. The concert was organized by RUDN
University in cooperation with the Soka University and the Min-
On Concert Association (or‘People’s Music’). Japanese great per-
formers, laureates of Tchaikovsky International Competition
carried out their best performances. RUDN University was repre-
sented by Professor G.N. Trofimova who presented a Paraphrase
on ‘Eugene Onegin’ Opera . The biggest surprise of the day were performances by Kanon Matsu-
da (pianoforte) and Seiya Ueno (flute). Despite their young age, the musicians have already been
awarded with the first prize in a number of international competitions, recorded studio albums and
achieved their popularity not only in Japan but also worldwide.
RUDN University hosted a Week of culture of students from Tanzania. During the Week of Culture,
RUDN University students held national exhibitions and tournament in mini-football, organized a
round table‘Tanzania today’and demonstrated a movie about Tanzania.
Final KVN game took place in the RUDN University assem-
bly hall. The finalists were the teams of ‘Assortiment’ (unified
team of the Faculty of the Humanities and Social sciences and
Medical Institute), ‘Chistie Prudi’ (unified team of the Philolog-
ical Faculty, Institute of Law and graduates of the Medical In-
stitute), ‘Quartet B’ (unified team of IFL and Institute of World
Economy and Business), ‘Milukho-Mikaelyan’ (Armenian frater-
nity team) and‘Mentalitet’(team of the Law Institute). The win-
ners were the‘Chistie prudi’.
RUDN University hosted a Musical salon ‘Musical Planet
#27’ ‘I would learn Russian only for…’, which was dedicat-
ed to the Year of Literature in Russia. The concert program
included the plays by I. Tchaikovsky, M. Glinka. A. Varlam-
ov, A. Borodin, M. Mussorgsky, S. Rachmaninov, V. Annush-
kin, B. Sheremetiev. The following performers participated
in the concert: Honored Artist of Russia, soloist of Moscow
Helikon Opera Theatre Alisa Gitsba (concertmaster – profes-
sor of Moscow State Conservatory – Svetlana Bondarenko),
Olga Dolzhikova (clarinet, pianoforte); professor of Pushkin State Russian Language Institute,‘Living
Word’TV program hostVladimir Annushkin (‘V etot vecher, v siyanii slova’- music of speech and phi-
losophy of the Russian poetry); Borodin Symphony Orchestra of Central House of Scientists by Rus-
sian Academy of Sciences (conductor – professor of Moscow State Conservatory Pavel Lando); host –
RUDN University professor G.Trofimova. RUDN University students also competed in the Contest for
the most creative performance at the concert.
Student’s beauty contest ‘Mister and Miss Faculty of Humanities
and Social sciences’ took place at RUDN University. 5 young men
and 5 ladies participated in the contest. The winner of the title
‘Miss Faculty of Humanities and Social science’ was Daria Galitsa.
The winner of the title‘Mister Faculty of Humanities and Social sci-
ence’was Denisov Dmitry.
RUDN University hosted XVII International Congress on Health and wellness literacy in the XXI cen-
tury themed ‘Paradigm of modern medicine: doctor’s reasoning and actions in concern with inte-
gration of environmental health into medical education’.The Congress was dedicated to the 55th
An-
niversary of RUDN University. A number of important topics were discussed at the Congress, such
as innovative technologies in biology and medicine, research carried out with the help of high tech
equipment as following the innovative strategy of the medical science in Russia. The congress be-
came an important platform for discussion of the issues and perspectives of the Russia’s National
Modernization Program and innovative approaches in the development healthcare system.

RUDN University hosted XVII Meeting of Interstate Council
for Cooperation in Science, Technology and Innovations of
the CIS on the matters of Interstate program of innovative
cooperation of the CIS countries till 2020. The Meeting was
aimed to discuss implementation of Interstate program of
innovative cooperation of the CIS countries till 2020, which
was accepted at the CIS Heads of Government Council
meeting in October 2011. Considering sanctions against the
Russian Federation, complicated geopolitical and financial
and economic situation of the Council member states, cooperation in science and technology in
Post-Soviet area is beneficial not only for some definite CIS states but for the Commonwealth in
general. Implementation of innovation programs within the Interstate program will contribute
to strengthening integration within the CIS area, develop consistent innovation area, increase
competitiveness and speed up the economic growth of the CIS states, help to overcome the
outcomes of financial and economic crisis.
Heads of CIS states as well as many famous scholars and researchers attended the Meeting.
Institute of Foreign Languages initiated theatrical performances and contests using different times
‘Christmas meetings at IFL’.The idea was that English tenses were presented through different times
in history: ancient times described Past Perfect, Middle Ages – Past Simple, Modern times - Present
Simple and Present Continuous, future in the perspective of the young generation was presented
through Future Indefinite.
President of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev was awarded with RUDN
University Doctor Honoris Cause Diploma and Mantle in the
Embassy of Kazakhstan. The solemn ceremony was attended by
the RUDN University Rector, academician of Russian Academy
of Sciences, V.M. Filippov, Vice-Rector for research N. Kirabaev
and Head of the International Protocol Office Ev. Martynenko.
The ceremony participants discussed cooperation between
RUDN University and Universities of Kazakhstan. The President
of Kazakhstan also emphasized that RUDN University is currently cooperating with 17 Kazakh
universities.
Mr. N. Nazarbaev also recalled his speech of September 18, 2015 delivered at General Debate of the
70th
Session UN General Assembly, when he emphasized importance of preventing international
terrorism and religious extremism and urged to hold an international conference that would
establish basic principles of international law. Mr. N. Nazarbayev noted that it would be beneficial
if higher educational institutions could also contribute in the discussion of these matters. The
President expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Administration of the Peoples’Friendship
University of Russia for the award of RUDN University Doctor Honoris Cause Diploma and the Mantle.
RUDN University Women Committee initiated a big and magical New Year’s party for the kids of
RUDN University employees with the New Year’s tree and a lot of presents under it.
The Russian Booker Prize award ceremony for the best literary work of
the year in Russian took place in Moscow.
The winner was Alexander Snegirev, writer, author of the‘Hope’novel.
Alexander Snegirev, the winner of the Debut Award for Young Authors
in 2009, graduated from RUDN University and proceeded with Master’s
degree in political studies. His novel ‘Hope’ depicts a story of a young
girl Vera, who is looking for her place in the world, which is not that
easy in the modern world. Moreover, she desperately wants to become a mother.
The jury of the contest included literary critic Maxim Krongauz and Valeria Pustovaya, prosaic Denis
Gutsko, expert in literature Aleksey Mashevsky and writer Andrey Volos as a Chairman.

Young scholars of the Faculty of Science I. Gudkova (ass.professor, Department of Applied
Informatics and Probability Theory), A. Festa (Senior Teacher, Department of organic chemistry),
I. Sochenkov (ass.professor, Department of information technologies) became winners of the
Contest of Fundamental Research of initiative research projects of young scientists. The winners
received the prize of 1,000 000 rubles.
In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation,
V.M. Filippov was awarded with the Badge ‘70 Years of Victory in the
Great Patriotic War 1941–1945’ for his active role in the development
of patriotic feeling among Russian citizens and in providing social and
financial support to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945.

Solemn Ceremony of National Award of public recognition for the achievements of citizens of
the Russian Federation ‘Great people of Great Russia’ took place at the Moscow Government Big
Concert Hall.
RUDN University Director of the Medical Institute, Dr. in Medicine, Aleksey Abramov was awarded
with the national prize of public recognition for the achievements‘Great People of Great Russia’.
Famous political, public, cultural figures, members of clergy and representatives of the authority
were also awarded with the National Award. The laureates admitted in their speeches the
importance of spiritual unity and mobilization feeling among the citizens for the Great Russia
and its heroes. The Award of public recognition for the achievements of citizens of the Russian
Federation ‘Great people of Great Russia’ is a recognition of merits and hard work of political and
public figures.
Head of the Department of Applied Physics, Faculty of Science, DSc,
professor Victor Ilgisonis was appointed Director of Federal State
Budgetary Institution‘National Research Centre‘Kurchatov Institute’.
Participant and supervisor of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research,
INTAS, HCF, Victor Ilgisonis is also member of editor board of the Journal
of Plasma Physics, head of the Plasma Theory Department in the RAS
Scientific Council on plasma physics, and also member of program and
organising committees of the Russian and international conferences
and schools in plasma physics. Victor Ilgisonis has been working in the
‘Kurchatov Institute’since 1978.
