The engineer of record worked directly with Contech to identify the best solution for the storm sewer systems that would be needed. Given the complexity of the site and the high fill in one particular area, two different storm sewer systems were specified. Access to the new reservoir required the installation of an environmentally-friendly structure that could follow the alignment changes of the stream without impacting the waterway – saving both time and money. The County selected a 184’ long MULTI-PLATE structure as the best solution. Jellyfish and StormFilter treatment systems were chosen to meet 80% reduction of TSS due to their ability to treat high flows in a compact footprint. Moreover, their configuration flexibility allowed the engineer to eliminate unnecessary structures, thus reducing costs. Keystone engineered the bridge wall design which provides both reinforcing structural support needed for the sandy soils, as well as a charming Old World appearance for the new park gateway. A DuroMaxx SRPE glycol storage tank was selected. The prefabricated arch system choice resulted in faster installation time, substantial savings, and efficiently allowed critical fiber optic lines to remain untouched during the installation process. The water had to be collected as well as treated before it was discharged into the Gulf of Mexico. The local engineer worked with Contech to design a solution which utilized Slotted Drain for collection and conveyance of the stormwater and Vortechs hydrodynamic separators to treat the stormwater before flowing into the Gulf of Mexico. RCP Installation Date: March 2014 During a routine inspection at the Lakehurst Naval Air Station, it was discovered that a number of reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) runs used to carry stormwater had deteriorated and were no longer hydraulically or structurally sufficient. The facilities engineer decided to reline the existing RCP with SPR™ PE through the manholes directly. The new bridge can accommodate the rapid growth in the area and increased traffic volume. The solution? A stormwater system consisting of a CMP detention system pretreated with a CDS hydrodynamic separator, to meet water quality and quantity requirements. It is the most comprehensive dam removal and restoration projects in Michigan’s history and one of the largest such projects in the Great Lakes Basin. Contech provided ArmorFlex erosion control mats as an advanced protective measure during the drawdown stages of the Boardman Dam. The original design utilized large ponds that took up the entire green spaces making them unusable for other purposes. The Filterra vaults have a much smaller footprint, blend well with the other landscaping, and increase the property values of the homes closest to the green spaces.
