INTRODUCTION



           • Founded in 2000 by: John Wood
          • Left his job to pursue the project.
  • To allow every child have access to some form of
                        education.

• They achieve this goal by establishing school libraries,
  building schools, publishing local-language children's
   books and training teachers on literacy education.

  • Seeing the faces of the children with the books
    convinced John to leave the corporate world and
   devoted himself to quit his executive position with
         Microsoft and started Room to Read

• John himself donated 3000 books to his organisation
HISTORY



• The company started building libraries for schools in
           some parts of Asia and Africa

 • However, John recognized the need to expand the
  scope to girls in the developing world where they are
  overlooked in the educational system due to cultural
                            bias

• Room To Read started to enable girls to participate in
    the education system in some parts of the world.
