Figure shows a hydraulic pump which is used to lift a car where piston
A is connected to a hand lever and piston B is attached to platform
which lift a car.
a) If the pressure applied at point C is P, what can you say the pressure
at D?
b) Name and elaborate on the principle that be used as the basis on
your answer at (a).
c) If an external force of 10N is applied on piston A with diameter 2 cm,
i) calculate the transmitted pressure P ?
ii) determine the maximum weight that can be lifted if the
diameter of the piston B is 12 cm.
