Production Process Evaluation
Research
• The strengths of my research where that I could see what a realistic retro
game looks like, this helped me to make my game seem more professional
and like a real retro style racing game.
• It also helped me to see how to make my work look 3D even when its
made out of pixels.
• It also helped me to decide to put the dash board of the car at the bottom
of the screen to make the player feel more like it’s a real car.
• The weaknesses of my research were that I could have chosen a wider
range or racing games ones that didn't all look the same as I saw one that I
really liked then just went and chose more that were exactly the same.
• I could have researched other games other than just racing games to see if
I could find something that would look oven better.
Planning
• The strengths of my planning were that it gave me a chance to full decide
and see what I wanted my product to look like and how I wanted it to
move.
• It also gave me chance to see if what I wanted to do would be possible and
to choose fonts and colours I wanted to use
• Another is that it helped me to decide how I would design my car and
what I wanted it to look like.
• The weaknesses of my planning are that I could have spend more time
looking at how I wanted my cover to look so that I would have been more
prepared as to how it would work.
Time Management
• I could have managed my time better and spent less time trying to make it
move smoothly and making sure every little detail was how I wanted it
and more time just actually making the product so that it would be
finished in time, I also could have timed myself better when looking for
fonts as I spent way to much time doing that and looking at pictures I
might need and more time working on my planning and the rest of my
PowerPoints, that would have given me more time to spend on designing.
Target Audience Appeal
• I think my game appeals to a younger audience well and is mainly aimed
at boys. I wanted my game to have bright sunny parts to it and also dark
parts, I did this my making my cover based at night and my screenshot on
a sunny day.
• Cars themselves are something that is usually more aimed towards boys
so making my game a racing game in its self draws in a male audience
• There is nothing offensive in the game and It looks fairly simple this means
someone as young as they wanted could play it.
Technical Qualities
I used the
red outline
for the cover
to make it
stand out as
much as the
existing
product.
The
existing
product is
more
detailed as
they had
more
pixels to
work with.
I could have made my cover look a little
more exciting like the existing product
and how they have the car flying through
the air with the red streak behind it
