This document discusses how to solve multi-operational word problems that involve more than one math operation. It recommends carefully reading and understanding the problem, and optionally drawing the problem to identify the necessary operations and equation. The ESA Method is introduced as a way to solve these problems, which stands for: E (Express the question in an equation), S (Solve the equation), and A (Answer the question). Three sample word problems are presented and solved using the ESA Method to illustrate this process.
