This document presents a novel computer-aided detection (CAD) system designed to efficiently identify cancerous lung nodules in CT images, utilizing wavelet transforms and support vector machine (SVM) techniques. The algorithm involves four main stages: enhancing suspicious regions, detecting areas of interest, reducing false positives through wavelet features, and classifying results using SVM. Evaluated on 60 cases, the system showed a high sensitivity with a true positive rate of 94.5% and an average of 7 false positives per image.
