This document summarizes a study that examined case-based learning practices in an online MBA program through course analyses, student surveys, and instructor interviews and focus groups. The study explored student and instructor perceptions of instructional design, facilitation, and technology support for case-based learning. It found that case-based learning provided a valuable way for online business students to apply knowledge, but that practices often mirrored traditional classrooms. Issues around integrating diverse technologies and developing multimedia cases to enhance engagement were also addressed.
