The Dell EMC PowerEdge R7515 single-socket solution showed better value in transactional database workloads compared to the dual-socket HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10, achieving 93.4% of the latter's performance while costing 14.8% less over four years. Resulting in a savings of $268,958, the Dell solution offered a 9.6% better cost/performance ratio due to lower hardware and software costs. Both current-generation servers significantly outperformed a legacy cluster of five-year-old servers, but the Dell solution proved more efficient in terms of performance per dollar spent.
