A BAD DAY FOR THE CUT – (Camera Trainee)-Six Mile Hill
With this low budget feature, I was mainly responsible for the directors monitors and
making sure that they were set up quickly and close to the camera. I also helped run gear
back and forth, boarding the camera, loading in the lenses and as there were no generators
or overnight power I took batteries home to make sure that they were all charged for each
days shoot.
THE JOURNEY – (Camera Trainee)
For this film I gained new responsibilities during my trainee role, along with the usual duties
as a trainee, I also had to check in and send back equipment and send away rushes and
check cards back in and as an extra challenge there was a lot of driving and fake rain used in
many of the shots so I needed to make sure the equipment was secure and that it was all
kept completely waterproof.
TIME AND AGAIN – (2nd Camera Assistant)
On this micro budget short I loaded, boarded and kept notes helped position the camera
and the monitors.
LOST CITY OF Z – (Camera Trainee) – LCOZ Productions LTD
I had a wonderful opportunity to work on this big budget feature working with 35mm film,
Along with my usual trainee duties I worked in some challenging locations like muddy
trenches dug out to imitate world war 1 trenches and humid greenhouses, making sure that
the equipment did not get damaged, running film magazines to and from the central loader
and making sure that not dirt and grit got into them while bringing them to the loaders.
GAME OF THRONES SEASON 6 – (Video Trainee/Camera Trainee) – Fire and Blood
Productions
This year on thrones I not only improved my skills in the camera department but added
some new skills by working in the video department as well, setting up monitors and
playback equipment for directors, producers and make-up.
MORGAN – (Camera Trainee)- work done for Fox uk
In this week placement I was put in a splinter unit learning how to be self sufficient from the
main camera unit but still communicating with them, working in 3 difficult locations, I had
to think on my feet of equipment placement and being as mobile as possible to help with
set up the camera in the right positions.
