This document summarizes a research project that aims to expand the capabilities of DataSHIELD, a tool for analyzing sensitive data without sharing it directly. The project has three goals: 1) integrate a data cleaning tool with DataSHIELD to enable analysis of numerical data, 2) deploy a local DataSHIELD system to analyze open text data from the British Library, and 3) explore implementing DataSHIELD to analyze data in research papers on the F1000 platform. The project is led by the University of Bristol with several collaborators and aims to increase access to sensitive datasets while preserving privacy and intellectual property.
