This document describes a simulation game called Featureban that is used to teach kanban concepts. It outlines 3 iterations of the game: 1) basic visual workflow management, 2) adding work-in-progress limits, and 3) tracking metrics like lead time. Groups of 3-5 players represent a team working through a backlog by moving sticky notes on a board according to coin flip results. The iterations introduce kanban concepts like limiting work in progress and measuring flow. Debrief discussions explore observations and parallels to real work environments.
