Most (84%) organizations in the healthcare vertical have deployed AI technologies to
some extent, with slightly more than the global average looking into predictive
analytics (57%) and machine learning (57%). There is a slightly higher focus on
developing knowledge and skills (57%) along with investing in supporting IT
infrastructure (62%). It is among the verticals where organizations are more likely to
see AI assisting in risk (38%) and financial (37%) management areas.
Conclusion
As the vast majority of decision makers believe, AI is inevitable. Some organizations
already find themselves actively exploring how the technology can work for them
whilst many remain focused on planning their approach. What is clear, however, is
that the successful use of AI requires balance: greater automation versus employee
engagement, customer satisfaction versus changing business models. The goal? To
harness the vast array of possible rewards whilst minimising the many potential
risks.
Overall, it is clear that the adoption and use of AI technologies offers an exciting leap
forward for many organizations but careful consideration must be placed on the
impact of doing so in order to ensure that employees and customers come along for
the ride.
