The paper proposes a routing method for vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) using biogeography-based optimization (BBO) integrated with visible light communication (VLC) to address issues caused by restricted radio frequency bandwidth. The RBBO-VLC-VANET method aims to establish optimal routes between vehicles and infrastructure while improving throughput and reducing delay compared to existing ant colony optimization techniques. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated through various metrics such as packet delivery ratio and routing overhead.
