This paper analyzes attrition in outsourced software projects, illustrating that both client-initiated and member-initiated attrition significantly impact project profitability and team dynamics. Data was collected from a major outsourcing company over 14 months, revealing no significant difference between the reasons for attrition initiated by clients and those initiated by project members. The findings emphasize the need for better understanding and management of attrition factors to maintain project stability and employee morale.
