The paper focuses on optimizing surface roughness and material removal rate during dry turning of EN-31 steel using carbide inserts by analyzing the effects of cutting speed, feed rate, and depth of cut. It employs Taguchi's L9 orthogonal array and grey relational analysis to determine the optimal machining parameters, aiming to improve product quality while reducing production costs. The study highlights the importance of selecting appropriate process parameters for enhanced machining efficiency in micro, small, and medium enterprises in India.
