Cotton Fabric & Men’s Clothing – Understanding the
World’s Most Popular Apparel Fiber
Cotton is King of the men’s clothing world.
The world’s most important apparel fiber makes up
over 50% of the fabric sold throughout the world to
including men’s cotton suits, cotton dress shirt,
hosiery, underwear, and just about every piece
of casual wear for man to include jeans and
sweatshirts.
The popularity of cotton is no accident. Cotton fiber
has a long history with man, and it has endured
because its unique properties make it ideal for
clothing.
MENS SHIRT
As a rule of thumb, shirt fabric should
be made of 100% natural fibers like
cotton, linen, wool, or a blend of
these. Pure cotton is probably the
most popular material. Sea Island
Cotton, as well as Egyptian cotton, are
considered to be the best raw cotton
material since they have the longest
fibers, and so make the best yarns.
MENS JEANS
jeans are casual pants made from denim, noted for their
strength and comfort. They have been worn by sailors and
California gold miners as sturdy work pants, by the young as a
statement of their generation, and by the fashionable, who
are conscious of the prestige conveyed by designer names.
True blue jeans are made out of 100 percent cotton, including
the threads. Polyester blends are available, however, the over-
whelming majority of jeans sold are 100 percent cotton. The
most common dye used is synthetic indigo. The belt loops,
waistband, back panel, pockets, and leggings of a pair of blue
jeans are all made of indigo-dyed denim.
MENS BLEZAR
100% Wool
Wool is an all-natural fiber that's breathable and resilient.
When tightly packed, the crimped wool fibers create tiny
pockets of air that allow the fabric to absorb and release
moisture. This makes wool a classic choice for blazers
and overcoats, as it is a natural insulator that's not stifling.
Poly Blend
Poly blends have rich textures, and combine the best
characteristics of two different fibres for ultimate wear
ability. Polyester is crease-resistant and holds its shape
well over time.
Brushed Cotton
This incredibly smooth variety of cotton undergoes a
special brushing treatment that removes excess lint and
fibers from the cotton. The process creates a smooth, soft
finish, and it’s a natural fiber, so it breathes easily and
wears comfortably.

 Children's wear is clothing for children who have not yet grown to full
height.
 Children's clothing is often more casual than adult clothing, fit for play and
rest.
 Hosiery is commonly used.
Children's wear size
 American sizes for baby clothes are usually based on the child's weight.
 European sizes are usually based on the child's height.
 These may be expressed as an estimated age of the child, e.g., size 6 months (or 3–6
months) is expected to fit a child 61 to 67 centimeters (24 to 26 in) in height and 5.7 to
7.5 kilograms (13 to 17 lb) in weight.
 These are usually preemie for a pretern birth baby, 0 to 3 months, 3 to 6 months, 6 to 9
months, 9 to 12 months, 12 months, 18 months, and 24 months, though there is no
industry standard definition for those sizes.
History about children's clothing
 In the United States, before the 1890s children predominantly wore clothing
made by their parents.
 By 1910, retailers had formed a "publicity structure" toward children for the sale of
children's goods, which resulted in a significant increase in the sale of
manufactured children's clothing, sportswear, candy, and baby clothing.
 By 1915, baby clothing had become one of the nation's largest industries.
 In the 1980s, infant and toddler clothing fashion design became an increasing
source of revenue for US designer labels and fashion design houses, such as Polo
Ralph Lauren and Guess.
