We are here to let u know
about the A.I knowledge in
Robotics and how it works
combinedly in our practical
life.
3
What is A.I ?
Let’s start with the first set
of slides
5
What is A.I ?
• Artificial intelligence is intelligence established by
machines, contrary to the natural intelligence displayed by
humans and other animals.
• Artificial intelligence (AI) is an area of computer science that
highlights the creation of intelligent machines that work and
react like humans. Some of the activities computers with
artificial intelligence are designed for include:
1. Speech recognition
2. Learning
3. Planning
4. Problem solving
What is Robotics ?
• The branch of technology that deals with the design,
construction, operation, and application of robots.
• Robotics is the study of robots. Robots are machines
that can be used to do jobs. Some robots can do
work by themselves. Other robots must always have
a person telling them what to do.
• Examples:
1. Robot Worx(Industrial Robot)
2. VEX Robots( Educational Purpose)
3. DoBot(Chinese Calligraphy)
4. Honda’s ASIMO(Human like abilities)
5. Sophia(Humanoid)

Relation between AI & Robotics
▹ Robotics is that field concerned with the connection of
perception to action. Artificial Intelligence must have a
central role in Robotics if the connection is to be
intelligent.
▹ Artificial Intelligence addresses the crucial questions of
what knowledge is required in any aspect of thinking; how
that knowledge should be represented; and how that
knowledge should be used Robotics challenges AI by
forcing it to deal with real objects in the real world.
▹ Techniques and representations developed for purely
cognitive problems. often in toy domains, do not
necessarily extend to meet the challenge. Robots
combine mechanical effectors, sensors, and computers.
AI has made significant contributions to each component.

partnership
between man
and machine

What is Cybernetics?
 Study of control processes
 Communication in mechanical,
electronic and biological systems
 scientific study of how humans,
animals and machines control and
communicate with each other
11
What is the communication
between AI and Robotics
Examples of Cybernetics
▹ In Automobiles the
Automatic Cruise
Control can also
be considered as
example of
Cybernetics.
ASIMO
A live example ASIMO
the robot made by
HONDA Corp which
uses Principles of
Cybernetics.
A.I Micro
Assassination
Drone
A.I Micro Assassination Drone
(cont.)
▹ It can fly itself
▹ This AI drone is built in such a way that can react
Hundred times faster than a human depending on
others action.
▹ Incorporated with facial recognition
that can aim the target by matching
facial data
A.I Micro Assassination Drone
(cont.)
▹ It is basically a killer drone
▹ Contained with 3 grams of shaped
explosives.
▹ Enough to penetrate human skulls
15
A.I Micro Assassination Drone
(cont.)
▹ Can target enemy by collecting data like (facial image
data, Social networking data or even data from a
#Hashtag)
▹ Unlike a nuclear attack this swarm can attack half of a
city with remarkable precision and reliability.
▹ This the ultimate weapon with the ability to search for,
identify and terminate a specific human target. It is
likely, in fact, that many governments of the world are
already working on this technology.

Synthetic
Eye
Synthetic Eye
▹ A synthetic or an artificial eye is a
type of prosthetics this is used to
replace a dysfunctional or damaged
eye. In modern age scientist have
developed a kind of camera that can
interact with the brain simulating
the nerve cells.

Cybernetic Organism
▹ A cybernation organism also known as cyborg is a concept of combining both
biological and mechanical body parts to extended beyond normal human
limitations. The term was first introduced in 1960 by Manfred Clynes and Nathan.
▹ Examples of real-life cyborgs:
▹ Neil Harbisson: Born colorblind, only could see black and white can now see
colors with the help of special electronic eye.
▹ Nigel Ackland: Lost his right arm by an accident now uses a bionic arm that
receives information through his remaining forearm and can act according to it. A

22
Who is Sophia ?
24
 Sophia is a social humanoid robot
developed by Hong Kong-based
company Hanson Robotics.
 The robot, modeled after actress
Audrey Hepburn.
 Sophia was activated on 2015and made
her first public appearance was in 2016.
 Sophia was created by Hanson Robotics
in collaboration with AI developers,
including Google’s parent company
Alphabet Inc, who built her voice
recognition system, and SingularityNET,
which powers her brain.
25
About Sophia
▹ In 2017, the robot became a Saudi Arabian citizen,
the first robot to receive citizenship of any country.
▹ In 2017, Sophia was the first non-human to be given
any United Nations title.
▹ Sophia has been interviewed in the same manner
as a human, striking up conversations with hosts.
Some replies have been nonsensical, while others
have impressed interviews.
26
27
Features of Sophia
 She is able to display more than 62 facial
expressions and she is designed to get smarter
over time.
 Sophia uses artificial intelligence and visual data
processing and facial recognition
 Sophia also imitates human gestures and facial
expressions.
 Cameras within Sophia's eyes combined with
computer algorithms allow her to see. She can
follow faces, sustain eye contact, and recognize
individuals.
 Sophia runs on artificially intelligent software that
is constantly being trained in the lab.
