This paper investigates the use of artificial neural networks (ANNs) as power system stabilizers in a single machine infinite bus system, proposing a predictive control strategy that outperforms conventional stabilizers. The study utilizes a unique interface between MATLAB and DIGSIENT PowerFactory for enhanced simulation accuracy, demonstrating the ANN-based stabilizer's effectiveness in dampening small amplitude low frequency oscillations. Results confirm the proposed ANN structure's improved performance in maintaining power system stability compared to traditional methods.
