The research article presents a two-level control strategy combining local and centralized controllers to dampen low frequency oscillations in power systems, specifically using a proportional-integral power system stabilizer (PI-PSS). The methodology aims to simplify controller design while improving system performance, leading to a significant increase in the damping factor from 0.0217 to 0.666 in various examples. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method compared to existing controllers in the literature.
