Assignment #8 Individual Presentations (3rd Draft)
AUDIENCE FEEDBACK
• Through audience feedback I've learnt that the audiences opinion is
everything, I went through some of my topics with my peers and they
gave me different ideas to fix and add.
• One of them was the explanation of my topic which I had not gone into
depth with my spider diagrams they were unclear to others and needed
    more of a focused topic.
• Another was they felt they did not really learn much from my
explanations so that was a major I needed to address.
• My peers helped me in my decision to come to the topic I have now.

known as ‘ Celebrity Worship Syndrome’
• Syndrome refers to a set of abnormal / unusual set of symptoms
• 1st covered by James Champman (Daily Mail 2003)
• There are three types of classification :
1. Entertainment – Social : Fans who are attracted to a favourite celeb, they like
to talk about them with friends
2. Intense – Personal : Knowing more than the ordinary fan does i.e. The celebs
likes and dislikes which gives the fan something to relate with to the star
3. Borderline – Pathological : Fantasising, constantly thinking about the celeb
i.e. You thinking you would one day marry the celeb

Females: Males:
• They seem to have obsessions from a young • Like females but less obsessive and
age weather it be towards a toy or a certain less open about it if it doesn't fit into
type of clothing. the norm
•They are more perceptible as they are • The documentary would appeal to
bombarded with causes (i.e. Boy bands, teen the males who would like to know
singers) more about how social media aids
• The documentary would fit perfectly to their their celebrity obsession
needs as they are they generation who love
social media and would enjoy knowing more
about their obsession
AUDIENCE
Who is the secondary audience and why?
• The secondary audience would be younger kids that have celeb
obsession who may just watch for their favourite celeb info which they
may have heard from a friend or over social media
• This would be seen on a demand site or a re-run on a later date
AUDIENCE
Is it niche or mass audience?
• Its aimed at both, it has a specific age group but is
wide enough to apply to a mass audience
• The fact that its to both genders also opens it to a
mass audience and yet caters to the niche audience
    as to its specific audience
AUDIENCE
Relate your target audience to channel /Showtime?
• The documentary would air on BBC Three at 9pm which is prime time.
• This channel caters from young (14 year olds) to old adults (29 year
olds) and teens, who are in love with the celebrity culture
• 9pm is the perfect time as the working would be home as well as the
    students
• It would air on a Wednesday
• With its gained popularity it would also be aired on BBC One at 8pm so
young kids would be in get allowing the young adults and olders to
    enjoy
AUDIENCE
What should they learn at the end of watching the
  documentary?
• They should be able to identify what stage of
obsession they have (if they even have one)
and understand why they think this way
• Also the overwhelming power social media has
in our daily lives and realise how much we are
consumed with celebrity culture and if its write
    or wrong
INSPIRATION – ‘HUMAN PLANET’
• What inspired me from this
    documentary was the use of
    different angles
• This kept my attention as it
    wasn't just cuts of straight
    shots which kept it versatile
• I hope to apply different angles
    in my documentary
INSPIRATION – ‘BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE’
                    • This documentary inspired me for
the use of its achieve footage
                    • The use of achieve footage and
the use of split screen showing
different angles of the same event
                    • Allowing the audience to see all
sides of the event from different
                        prospective
                    • I found this entertaining and kept
                        my attention
INSPIRATION – ‘NATURES WEIRDEST EVENTS’
                      What inspires me from this
                        documentary is the use of
                        lighting
The use of light and how it was
played with caught my eye as
there is enough light so the
audience to see but not to
                         much to make it mysterious
I hope to apply this sort of
                          lighting to my documentary

Assignment #8 Individual Presentations (3rd Draft)

  • 2. AUDIENCE FEEDBACK • Through audience feedback I've learnt that the audiences opinion is everything, I went through some of my topics with my peers and they gave me different ideas to fix and add. • One of them was the explanation of my topic which I had not gone into depth with my spider diagrams they were unclear to others and needed more of a focused topic. • Another was they felt they did not really learn much from my explanations so that was a major I needed to address. • My peers helped me in my decision to come to the topic I have now.
  • 3. Where is the free will?
