What you have to do
Task Assessment Evidence Assessment Focus
TASK 2: Development of Film Editing
a) A study of the development of editing from the very earliest films
by the Lumiere brothers and Meliez, the early experimentalists
such as Griffiths and Eisenstein, Vertov and to the mid-twentieth
century Scorcese & Kubrik, and Goddard to current practitioners
in Music Videos, Documentary and TV Drama. You will compare
examples from fiction, non-fiction and advertising. However, they
may be well advised to concentrate on one form for the practical
elements of the unit.
1. Class Timeline on the Development of editing with
commentary and video/image examples (Timeglider)
2. Learners will produce a video on their blog about editing
(using a mixture of stock footage, images and audio
commentary) You will describe:

information; editing rhythm; crosscutting; cutting to soundtrack
