ASSURE Method Assignment Revised
Using the ASSURE Method explained and describe in the content material,
design a lesson using the ASSURE method for 1 of the following scenario in a word
document and uploaded it to the Assure assignment Drop Box Provided. In the document
you will use the acronym and elaborate on each latter as it was shown on the examples.
Teaching the months of the year to a 1st
grade class, Special Ed, 10 boys, 7 girls,
70% white 20% African-American and 10% Hispanic.7 students in the class have
mild to severe ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).
A- Analyze the learner
When teaching the months of the year to 1st
graders I will have 10 boys and 7 girls in
my class, all of which are in the Special Education program. 70% of then are white,
20% of them are African-American and 10% are Hispanic. Also 7 out of the 17
students have mild to severe ADHD. Since almost half of the students have ADHD I
will have to compensate my lesson plan and make it attainable for all students. I will
do this by using a lot of one on one contact with the students after I have taught the
lesson to them collectively.
S- State Objectives
My students will be able to name all 12 months of the year, they will do this by
studying and reviewing calendars, singing songs and listen to poetry about the months
on a podcast one day each week and making their own calendars for the 12-month
year and posting them on a Facebook page that their parents can view and access with
them. By the end of this semester 100% of my students will be able to name the 12
months in the calendar year.
S- Select Methods, Materials, and Media
The methods, materials, and media that I will use will accommodate to all of my
learners needs. For the visual learners we will look at and analyze real calendars. For
the audio learners will we sing songs and listen to poems via podcast that list the
months of the year. Lastly for those who learn the most when they write and record
information, we will make our own calendar that the students may look at and refer to
through out the school year, the calendar will also be available on Facebook for their
parents to have access to if they would like to use it at home.

E- Evaluate and Revise
I will evaluate my students at the end of the semester by making them recite the
months of the year song that we learned in class each individually and they will show
me their finished 12 month custom calendar that they made through out the semester.
