RIPE Atlas is a network of over 3,600 active probes in over 100 countries that measure the Internet infrastructure in real-time. The probes conduct built-in measurements like pings and traceroutes that are publicly available, as well as custom measurements scheduled by users. A new generation of RIPE Atlas probes has been introduced that are smaller and have more storage and processing capabilities. The RIPE Atlas community has grown and many new features have been added, including improved visualizations and APIs.
