Audio Editing: Basic

- 2. Editing Audio: iTunes You can do very basic editing in iTunes. iTunes comes free on most Macs. • You can trim the beginning or end to a different start or end time and increase or decrease volume – Control click/right click, Get Info, Options
- 3. Editing Audio: Audacity Audacity is an open source, free multi-track audio editor and recorder. This editor is best to use for extensive audio editing. To download and access tutorials: http://sourceforge.net/projects/audacity/
- 4. GarageBand GarageBand is good for adding effects to audio and layering audio. - 5. GarageBand continued • Cinematic tab allows you to add sound effects (bottom right hand of screen)
- 6. GarageBand continued • Can perform a voice over by pushing record at the bottom of the screen – this will allow you to layer voices • The inspector button at the bottom of the screen allows you to add even more effects
- 7. GarageBand continued • Once you are done editing, you can save your file as a GarageBand file or share your files in the options shown below: • You can also import your voiceover/audio directly into iMovie
- 8. CD Creation: iTunes • You can burn a CD from iTunes (from digital audio files) • On the new version of iTunes: – Create a playlist of audio you desire to burn (Select the audio, right click/control click, choose “New Playlist from Selection.”) – Once you are in playlist, go to wrench tool at bottom of the screen and select “Burn Playlist to Disc.” – Select appropriate CD drive and type of CD you want to burn
