- 17. To ensure precise counting in crowded situations on transportation applications: When the doors are closed, people that remain in the detection area are counted as IN. When the doors open, people leaving the detection area towards the doors are counted as OUT. If people stand under the sensor within the detection area, they are not counted as OUT How an APC works
