This document compares two band pass filter design methods—hairpin-line and square open-loop resonator—specifically for digital television broadcasting systems. The study details simulation results and measurements, revealing that the hairpin-line method achieved better performance, exhibiting a return loss of 27.3 dB and a fractional bandwidth of 6.7%, while the square open-loop resonator had return losses of 25.9 dB and a fractional bandwidth of 4.8%. The findings suggest researchers should prefer the hairpin-line method for its smaller size and superior performance attributes.
