Typography is the art and technique of arranging type, including type design and modification. The history of typography traces back to ancient times with the first punches and dies used to make seals and currency. Typography includes typesetting, type design, calligraphy, graffiti, lettering for signs, advertisements, wordmarks, logos, clothing labels, vehicle displays, and kinetic typography in films and television. There are two main types of type: serif and sans-serif. Examples of typography include ancient styles, the Ray Roman script designed by Satyajit Ray, and a sample text displaying different font sizes.
