Details on the Infrastructure Emula=on Facility & Staging Network • BIO EmulaUon Facility is built as a replica of the city network ring (OpUcal/L2/IP) • This facility is also used as Staging Network to test experiment deployments prior to migraUon to the city network • IP devices available: Brocade MLXe-8 and VDX 8770-4 (not yet acUve) – The IP services on these devices can be bridged to the city network – They provide a 10G/40G/100G connecUvity soluUon for datacentre-like deployments and NFV tesUng • Housing/hosUng capability for customer’s equipment: – Network devices – White boxes – Server components (i.e. custom NICs) • CompuUng capacity adached to deploy virtual appliances (KVM hypervisor) 5
