A broken colour effect is an effect that produces a multi-coloured finish
and is not a solid colour.

What is the difference between a glaze and a scumble?
A scumble glaze.

Drying times
You can reduce and extend the drying time of scumble by adding
or using:
• Linseed oil
• Driers
• Glycerine
• Acrylic conditioners
• Lightly spraying the surface or using a wet rag

• The working time of the glaze or scumble glaze
• Yellowing of the material
• The area size
• Number of operatives

Specialist decorative effects involve coming into contact with solvents
so it is advisable that operatives use and wear the correct protection.
• Barrier creams
• Disposable gloves
• Overalls and boots
• Make sure you wash your hands
