2. CHAPTER 1
BACKGROUND
Buklos Elementary School is one of the complete Elementary Schools in
Barangay Buklos, District of Kasul-gan, Division of Southern Samar. It has a total
land area of 10,000 square meters and accessible through hiking, all forms of
vehicles and riding a motor boat It is geographically contiguous to river banks in
which flooding is a perennial issue of the school. It has a total population of 731
compose of 700 learners, 25 teachers, 6 non-teaching. The school’s infrastructures
has a 5-storey 10-classrooms building, 10 one storey 2-classrooms building, one
administration building, with covered court, wash facilities with sufficient water
source.
The campaign of the school to wards the DRRM preparedness response and
mitigation shall continue with relentless resolve so that the learners, school and
community will be spared from the misery of the aftermath/onslaught of
destructive occurrences.

10. GOALS
The goal of the contingency plan is to provide
effective, efficient, time and well-coordinated response
mechanisms in the event of the occurrence of Natural
and Human Induced Hazards in Barangay Buklos/
Buklos Elementary School/Department of Education.
Such mechanisms shall help to protect lives, properties
