Editor's Notes

  • #4: Gerbera – cheerful
  • #8: This is about helping you reflect on your skills and identify your strengths to help you choose the kinds of roles you would like to do next and build your confidence in your own abilities. After all, if you don’t know how good you are, how can someone else be expected to! Please refer to page 33 in the workbook
  • #9: This is about helping you reflect on your skills and identify your strengths to help you choose the kinds of roles you would like to do next and build your confidence in your own abilities. After all, if you don’t know how good you are, how can someone else be expected to! Please refer to page 33 in the workbook
  • #13: It's simple really. We want you to love your job and get as much as possible out of doing it. Maybe you'd like to polish up your practical conservation knowledge. Maybe you see yourself as a property manager of the future. Or maybe you're just keen to make sure that every visitor experience is the best it can be. Whichever way, you'll be pleased to know that training and development means as much to us as it does to you. To get you started, we've created a very helpful ‘e-induction' programme. Using video and all kinds of interactive wizardry, it'll help you get to grips with what we do and how we work. From there, it's really up to you. Once you've found your feet, we'll sit down together to work out your Personal Development Programme. Tailored to you and your needs, the programme will identify where you'd like training and where you see your career going - and, of course, how we'll help you get there. Learning comes in all shapes and sizes here, from on-the-job training to flexible e-learning to more formal workshops. We'll also, providing it's right for your job, help out with study for professional qualifications - practically and financially. If you like the idea of trying something totally different, you might want to think about a secondment, something we positively encourage.
