- 2. The people around the globe demands food everyday; which otherwise won’t be done without agriculture. The world is facing a hunger crisis unlike anything it has seen in more than 50 years. 925 million people are hungry. The food we claim as a right comes with the expense of farmers production management
- 3. When will food aid will cease hunger for lasting? Decades has gone with having food aid as a means!! Peoples of developing countries are searching for someone to hand them food, while endowed with productive resources, due to climate change.
- 4. How long the food aid donors will help the underprivileged? When will this long queue turned to community based food production than waiting for aid? Every day, almost 16,000 children die from hunger-related causes. That's one child every five seconds. Teach a man to fish!!
- 5. While agriculture is left prone to climate change risks; other industries are dying to contribute to mankind luxury accessories !! ** Huge companies are currently paying emission tax, though it got stack to reach the first victims, farmers! How can a subsistent agriculture produce food for 7 Billion heads?
- 6. Farmers in developing world are not technology friendly, it demands an interface to use precision agriculture technologies. Developing an information system, where illiterate farmers can utilize potentially , can let them to have early warning system and digitized crop management. Which way to go??
- 7. To have ICT based extension & early warning system could help to facilitate adoption and use of agricultural inputs in an environmentally friendly way. Equally, it helps to warn & give timely information to keep with the climate change dynamism Continued…
- 8. Precision agriculture could contribute much on reduction of food insecurity and meeting the MDGs. The seasonal nature of rain-fed agriculture, made it sensitive for a timely information. Information delay in agriculture is access deny.
- 9. Taking ICT as a solution, rather than as a means, has been the major problem. What remain ignored is building an interactive information system that the clients could fit the interface. What have been forgotten?
- 10. Emission tax & climate change compensation collection should target farmers, who are fully depend on natural processes, count major part of the African continent & poorer of the globe, and the major producers of food crop. Farmers should get priority!!
- 11. Till environmental rehabilitation & conservation practices bring change; the immediate victims need to have a secured mechanism for adaptation. ICT integrated extension & advisory services, weather and disease out-break reliable & ready early warning system is required, and this is the time to do so. Continued…
