- 8. TYPES OF RAM Dynamic random ACCESS MEMORY (DRAM) is a type of random-access memory used in computing devices (primarily PCs). DRAM stores each bit of data in a separate passive electronic component that is inside an integrated circuit board Static Random ACCESS MEMORY (Static RAM or SRAM) is a type of RAM that holds data in a static form, that is, as long as the memory has power. Unlike dynamic RAM, it does not need to be refreshed. 8
- 9. CACHE MEMORY Cache memory is a chip-based computer component that makes retrieving data from the computer's memory more efficient. It acts as a temporary storage area that the computer's processor can retrieve data from easily. This temporary storage area, known as a cache. 9

The Secondary storage media can be fixed or removable. Fixed Storage media is an internal storage medium like hard disk that is fixed inside the computer. 10

Optical disk An optical disk is any computer disk that uses optical storage techniques and technology to read and write data. Flash drive A USB flash drive is a data storage device that include flash memory with an integrated USB interface. It is typically removable, rewritable and much smallerthan an optical disc. 11
