- 5. Our current development team on the ground in Bangladesh is 100% focused on serving our mentor team and ultimately our paying customers which is our students. The focus is to manage the interface between our key users of the platform: • the student; • the mentor; • the management. This initial product is the “core” of the CodersTrust platform and the lessons learned will serve as our fundament to plan for the future of the platform. - 6. We have started by doing everything manually exactly like Yunus originally did, but we’re now in a position to start planning for a bigger IT vision for the future. The current product/platform being developed is suitable for a blended learning model with approx. 1.000 students where offline classrooms and control can compensate for the missing features and comprehensibility of the platform. However, a more scalable platform is required to reach 100.000 students to secure data security, consistency in our service and 100% online delivered learning and work. Operational: Platform: Funding: Scaling: The main goal in Bangladesh will be to ensure the progress of the first batch of students financed by Bank Asia and build out an organization and close partnerships to enroll more students on a “sponsored”, “free” and “paid” program. Furthermore, the aim is to establish an online content media strategy to drive engagement through the full student life cycle. A development team of 6 to build out our online platform to go fully “online” in terms of online learning from May 2015. We will be adding more developers to the team to speed up the platform development as a requirement for online learning and scaling the number of students. We’re signing a partnership with PlanetFinance to, 1) secure creditline for 100.000 students in Bangladesh and beyond, 2) close deals with impact investors for a global roll-out, 3) Raise a series A round and 4) establish strong local partnerships for local penetration and expansion. Organizing our CodersTrust franchise package which is currently being used by CT India, CT MENA and CT Africa to identify local partners to roll out CodersTrust when we are ready. - 8. We will plug into existing development forums and existing open source platforms to reach the level of robustness that we’re looking for. The architecture of the ultimate platform will stand on the shoulder of three main giants: 1) MIFOS banking platform – open source development framework 2) Open edX educational platform - open source development framework 3) Odesk/elance/Freelancer.com APIs By building on "top" of open source networks such as MIFOS and Open edX, we have an existing IT platform to leverage, a global network of developers, an IT enabled distribution channel to MFIs and educational content providers worldwide and platforms that can be served by our students. Our API will enable banks, educational providers or internal/external labor markets/HR to plug into our system to provide either financial, educational or labor services in whatever niche, geography or sector.
