This research analyzes the performance of shunt active filters (SAF) and transformerless parallel hybrid active filters (PHAF) for mitigating harmonics from non-linear loads. The study shows that PHAFs effectively reduce total harmonic distortion (THD) and improve power quality compared to pure SAFs, demonstrating better dynamic responses and lower power ratings. MATLAB simulations validate the proposed designs and control strategies, showcasing significant reductions in THD and harmonic currents.
