Conditionals have two parts: 
An if clause and a main clause.
 When the if clause comes first, we use a 
comma between the  two clauses.      
                       
                        When the main clause 
                        comes first, we don't use  
                        a comma.

Example:

Person+ verb+If +person+verb+complement
                     
 it breaks  If  you  drop an egg.
­­­­­­­If clause­­­­­­­­         ­­­­­­main clause­­­­­
      If +person+verb+complement+ , +person+ verb
If you drop an egg , it breaks.

 The zero conditional is used:
  a) for instructions:
  If you select reverse gear, the car goes backwards.
       
                  If the camera is on, a red light appears.
  
How to use the 0 Conditional?

b) for general truths:
  If he has no money, he doesn't go out.
       
 Linn always says hello when / if he sees you.
* If has the same meaning as when here*

In both, if clause and main clause, we 
use the Present Simple Tense.
And it expresses facts that are 
always true

Form:
if + present simple          present simple
 
 If you press the button, the machine switches off.
   
or present simple               if + present simple
The machine switches off if you press this button.

  She doesn't get some money If she  doesn't work  hard
Present simple negative sentence
  In this case we use the negative auxiliaries of Present    
  simple tense don't or doesn't + infinitive verb.

 Practice: Put the verbs into the correct tense.
1. Water (freeze) if the temperature (fall) below zero.
 Water freezes if the temperature falls below zero.

2. If he (be) angry, his face always (go) bright red.
3. If you (put) your money in a savings account, 
    you (get) ten per cent interest.
4. If the microphone (be not) working, you (can  
    not) hear what he's saying.

5. The radio (not work) if the batteries (be) flat.
6. If there (be) only a few students, we usually 
    (close) one of the classes.
7. The machine (not work) if it (have not) enough 
    oil.
