Convert Lead to
Opportunity in
Odoo 15 CRM

INTRODUCTION
❖ In Customer Relationship Management opportunity management is the key to success. We
can create an opportunity once we start a sale deal discussion with a customer.
❖ The stage changes when our discussion progresses and we can say we have won the
opportunity when the customer engages in a deal with our firm.
❖ The system can generate leads instead of opportunities, in order to add a qualification step
before converting a Lead into an Opportunity and assigning it to the right salespeople.
❖ You can activate this mode from the CRM Settings. It applies to all your sales channels by
default. But you can make it specific for specific channels from their configuration form.
❖ Goto CRM > Configuration > Settings.
❖ Under CRM settings > Enable the option Leads > We will get menu Called Leads.
❖ If you did all these steps, you will be able to view the Leads menu in your dashboard as
shown in the below image.
❖ you can convert the lead into an opportunity by clicking on the CONVERT TO
OPPORTUNITY button available on the form.
❖ When you click on the CONVERT TO OPPORTUNITY button, you might be displayed with
a pop up window where you have to create an opportunity with all the given details.
❖ In the conversion window, you can specify the conversion action. Here Odoo allows you to
convert the lead into a new opportunity or the lead can be merged with the existing
opportunities.
❖ Moreover, you can assign this opportunity to a specific Salesperson and Sales Team.The
opportunity can be added by selecting the Add a line option available.
❖ If you are converting the lead separately as an opportunity, the Odoo platform provides
you with other options to connect the lead to the customer available.
❖ After completing these steps, you can click on the CREATE OPPORTUNITY button
available in the pop up window.
❖ Here we can see the merged leads.
❖ From here we can mark as won and lost and also we can convert into new quotation
❖ By clicking WON button the state will be changed into won state and there is also to
become lost this opportunity.
❖ We can mark as Lost by specify lost reason even if it is a won lead by clicking MARK
LOST.
❖ We can mark as Lost by specify lost reason even if it is a won lead by clicking MARK
LOST. We can restore a lead by > RESTORE button.
❖ We can mark as Lost by specify lost reason even if it is a won lead by clicking MARK
LOST. We can restore a lead by > RESTORE button.The lost opportunity will returned into
it’s old state.You can create quotation by clicking on the NEW QUOTATION button.
❖ Add product details and confirm your quotation.
❖ You can CREATE INVOICE for the quotation and validate the Delivery created.
❖ And you can also directly create lead from pipeline by clicking ‘+’ icon.We add more
details by EDIT button.We can also convert lead into opportunity just by a drag and drop
from NEW to QUALIFIED
