What is paradigma in e research?
What is paradigm? What is e-research?
Praragdigm in e research
E-research
• Use of Cyber infrastructure in the research process
and activity is called e-Research.
• It is collaborative and interactive research made
possible by the internet and data and computational
grids.
• e-Research is a concept or word which has come into
vogue in academic research circles since 2000.
Paradigm
• paradigm is a distinct set of concepts or thought patterns,
including theories, research methods, postulates, and
standards for what constitutes legitimate contributions to
a field.
e-Research
• In e-Research, highly skillful researchers take research
with large sample from distributed population, they
collect and generate data, store them for the scientific
analysis and disseminate the findings which are
comparatively reliant relievable and valid.
• We adopt the view that e-Research strictly means
research conducted relying on supporting
infrastructure that should properly be called either e-
research infrastructure or cyberinfrastructure.so it can
include hardware,software,networking and human
resources.
• e-science or more generic e-research has come into
vogue recently, following on the heels of the more well
established term e-commerce.
Differences between e-Research and
Traditional Research
e-Reserarch : Propaganda or Paradigm
shift?
• Nowadays there are different perception of
different people towards e-research.
• Some people say that e-research is propaganda
whereas some other perceive it is the form of
paradigm shift in the process of research.
• e-Research is conceptualized as the research
conducted relying on supporting infrastructures
that should properly be called e-research
infrastructure or cyber infrastructure .
• e-Research is a shift in the process of research
tradition.
• Traditionl researches were very limited in
terms of resources,study population,research
findings,and dissemination.
• Tgraditional research were less authentic ,less
valid and less reliable.
• So we can say that e-Research is the paradigm
shift which avoids all of the above mentioned
weaknesses of traditional research.
• e-Research is evolving these days rapidly to fill
the gap of traditional research.
How it came into existence?
• e-Research first came with the concept of e-science.
• e-science is conceptualized as Big Science which
initially described weapons related research during
World War II.
• The term e-science is basically a European version of
American term cyber –infrastructure.
• In 1999, the word was coined by John Taylor, then
director general of the office of Science and
Technology in the UK
• e-Research was first developed in climate science.
because of they had been facing verities of problems
in the field of climate science.
Current Paradigm of e-research
• Currently, e-Research works as the service oriented I
• It is used in educational research nowadays.
• There are more than 27000 active digital users around the world.
• e-Research is replacing the traditional type of paper-pencil research
• It has been addressing the weaknesses of traditional researches
• It has been massively used in several fields like administration, business ,networking, research etc.
• Research process is being computerized along with the use of high speed, large capacity machines.
• The distant collaboration among the research from the international scope is increased.
• Research process including communication, research management, data collection and analysis,
publication are being conducted with the help of internet.
• Research experiments are being carried out with new form of data visualization.
• Data are being collected from thousands of people and diverse area by the researchers.
• e-Research is promoting better collaboration between the researchers and the respondents.
• Researchers are studying large scale data for high performance, validity, reliability and so on.
• Digital and cyber literacy to the researchers and the researchers and the respondents have been
fostered.
• e-research is creating the virtual learning environment to researchers i and respondents after increasing
knowledge.
• It is also increasing the capability of tools, infrastructure and service
Thank You.
Stay safe be happy
