This document discusses different methods for collecting data, including computerized methods. It describes Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI), where questionnaires are programmed and displayed on a computer for telephone interviews. It was developed in 1970 and is widely used for large surveys. Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) involves interviewers using portable computers instead of paper to directly enter data. Computer-Assisted Self-Interviewing (CASI) allows respondents to complete surveys themselves on a computer without an interviewer.
