Concentrate at a single place or area.  Store entire information and application programs at a central facility Example – MTNL has a centralized Database for registration of applications
 
Contribution from common databases stored in multiple computers located in the same physical location, or may be dispersed over a network of interconnected computers.

Contain information that external users require but cannot afford to maintain such huge databases Subject Specific Financial & technical information Example - The Spire Project:  Commercial Databases
