This document provides information about a professional development program called "Digital Destinations in History" that trains teachers to integrate technology into their social studies curriculum to improve student achievement in English Language Arts. The program consists of orientation workshops, webinars, and institutes held between October 2011 and June 2012. Teachers from specific New York City schools are selected by their principals to participate. The goals are to help teachers use technology as an instructional tool for social studies and to reinforce ELA skills through project-based learning assignments. Participants are required to apply what they learn in the program to lessons with their own students.
