This document summarizes a student's term paper analyzing deforestation in Phnom Aural, Cambodia using remote sensing techniques. The student analyzed Landsat images from 1990, 2003, and 2010 to classify land cover changes over time and assess the effectiveness of Cambodia's deforestation laws. Unsupervised classification identified areas of dense vegetation, sparse vegetation, bare soil/urban, water, and clouds. Change detection analysis through local area reports and a matrix analysis found increasing deforestation between 1990 and 2010, questioning the impact of Cambodia's deforestation policies.
