ORDER & DEFINE THE STAGES OF THE DESIGN PROCESS Order Process Define Order Process Define 1 The Client is the person or group who seek the services of a designer to create a design for them. 2 This refers to the problem that needs to be solved by the designer in order to complete the design 3 This is the instructions given to the designer to fulfil the needs of the client. 4 Research involves looking into different sources to use as inspiration to generate ideas for the design. 5 The act of identifying the area precisely therefore narrowing down the area of possible ideas to pursue. Research 6 This involves providing solutions to the problems that the designer faces, so that the design can be improved. Specification 7 This involves reviewing the good and bad qualities of a design, and from there what areas could be improved. 8 The combination of components or elements to form a connected whole. 9 This involves a first or preliminary version of a design from which other forms are developed. 10 This means perfecting a final prototype to pursue. 11 Completing the final form of the design, which can then be pitched to the designer. 12 An objective and subject review of my product and it’s suitability for purpose.
