Purpose, time, level, quality, and updatedness should be considered when developing audio material for language learning. Audio can be used to present, develop, or evaluate topics but must be appropriately timed to fit within a class period while maintaining student engagement. Tasks should be graduated in level to avoid frustration and accommodate different accents, using coherent, up-to-date content presented with clear sound and vocabulary.

- 6. Updatedness Why do you think students will love it or not? Avoid prejudice. Not because you like something, your students must like it. Why listening to an old referent? The world moves all the time!
