This document discusses a novel approach for device replacement and network rollout strategies in Ethernet/IP industrial automation, addressing the challenges of previous protocols. It proposes an algorithm utilizing LLDP and DHCP protocols to automate IP address assignment through topology information, thereby reducing manual configuration and downtime.
