First of all the most noticeable aspect of a front cover and advert of a digipak is the main image, this more often than not includes an image of the main artist or band, the reason for this being to promote the artists themselves creating a star persona or brand identity. The inclusion of a main image of the artist is seen within almost every genre of music. In addition to the main image, the title of the album generally appears the next biggest. The name of the artist is also included to ensure the audience knows who produced the album in an attempt to persuade them to purchase it. A parental advisory sticker can also be added to warn consumers against the language used on the album. The main image is also able to promote the genre of music created by the artist, through certain images, colours and locations for example dark colours may connote rock as seen with Guns n Roses and the blues seen in the background of Back to Black by Amy Winehouse represents the blues and jazz genre she performed in. These themes are continued throughout the digipak and advert. To an extent our digipak front cover conforms to the conventions of a professional front cover. The main image whilst not being of the main artist still has a direct mode of address attracting the audience to the product. The same can be applied to the digipak advert which features the same image developing a motif amongst the two and the video a convention seem amongst all digipaks. Keeping in with the idea of motifs the colour scheme of black and white developed the concept of binary oppositions and the red connotes the danger of the character within the video itself. As well as this the font and writing develops these themes and motifs further. The fact that the name of the artist throughout the digipak appears very rarely this is unconventional but fits in with the rap genre. As a result of the star persona of rap artists being arrogant not including the artists name connotes this.
