GRADE 7 DAILY LESSON LOG School: ILOILONATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL Grade Level: VII Teacher: DERAMAS, HECHANOVA, FUNTANILLA, BUÑI, LAGARTO, DAYANDAYAN Learning Area: ENGLISH Teaching Dates and Time: Week 1 Quarter: FOURTH I. OBJECTIVES MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY FRIDAY Objectives must be meet over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet the objectives, necessary procedures must be followed and if needed, additional lessons, exercises and remedial activities may be done for developing content knowledge and competencies. These are using Formative Assessment strategies. Valuing objectives support the learning of content and competencies and enable children to find significance and joy in learning the lessons. Weekly objectives shall be derived from the curriculum guides. A. Content Standards: The learner demonstrates understanding of: contemporary Philippine literature as a means of responding demands of the global village; various extended text types; lexical and contextual cues; appropriate and polite oral language, stance, and behavior; and use of imperatives, prepositions, verbs, and wh- questions. B. Performance Standards: The learner transfers learning by: explaining the needs to be cooperative and responsible in today’s global village; using appropriate strategies to comprehend extended text types; using lexical and contextual clues to understand unfamiliar words and expressions; using imperatives, prepositions, and appropriate and polite oral language, stance and behavior in various information-sharing formats. C. Learning Competencies/Objectives: Write the LC Code for each EN7RC-IVa-3.2, EN7LC-IVa-8, AND EN7LT-IVa- 12.3 EN7WC-IVa-2.2, EN7WC-IVa-2.8.4, and EN7OL-IVa-3 EN7RC-IVa-3.2, EN7RC-IVa-12.3, and EN7WC-IVa-2.8.4 EN7LC-IVa-8.1, EN7VC-IVa6.1, EN7G-IVa-4, and EN7WC-IVa-2.8.4 II. CONTENT Content is what the lesson is all about. It pertains to the subject matter that the teacher aims to teach. In the CG, the content can be tackled in a week or two. Always be guided by demonstration of learning by the students which you can infer from formative assessment activities. Sustain learning systematically by providing students with multiple ways to learn new things, practice their learning, question their learning processes, and draw conclusions about what they learned in relation to their life experiences and previous knowledge. Indicate the time allotment for each step. A. Reviewing Previous Lesson or Presenting the New Lesson Task 1 (5 minutes) Two statements will be presented to the class (p. 4) The students will be asked with thought-provoking questions. Task 1 (3 minutes) The students will have an example of a reflection based on a journal entry. B. Establishing a Purpose for the Lesson Task 2 (3 minutes) The photos about economic status, poverty, monetary fund, religion, presidential administration, emotion will be viewed by the students. Task 2 (7 minutes) Out from the given reflection, the students will be introduced with the parts of an essay. The said parts will be consolidated and rationalized. C. Presenting Examples/Instances of the Lesson Task 3 (12 minutes) The class will be asked with motive questions about the photos they have seen. Task 3 (12 minutes) Enriching the students’ vocabulary by giving synonyms to the keywords from the topic. D. Discussing New Concepts and Practicing New Skills #2 Task 5 (22 minutes) Based on the clues presented, the students will write meaningful journal entries which will be graded based on the given criteria. (p.10) Task 5 (28 minutes) The students will be given time to read the selection with the guide question: What makes up a Filipino? F. Developing Mastery (Leads to Formative Assessment 3) Task 6 (15 minutes) The students will be tasked to evaluate or examine one of the Philippine Essay written by Jose Rizal, My Home based on the firstly given guide questions. Task 6 (15 minutes) Comprehension questions will be asked. G. Finding Practical Applications of Concepts and Skills in Daily Living Task 7 (15 minutes) The students will write an about the information which they will include in their journal entry for a week. Task 7 (18 minutes) The students will be asked about : A. Interpreting the text questions B. Challenging the text questions C. Crossing Author’s Mind (pp. 16-17)
