Joe Belcastro was born in Brooklyn to Italian American parents and had a normal childhood until entering a talent show at age 16, which began his path to stardom. He was offered a recording contract after impressing judges with his singing on American TV show New Faces. Belcastro found chart success in the UK with his single "Obsessed with Love" but his popularity declined, until he later appeared on the reality show I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! and had another hit single called "Insania" that topped charts in the US and UK for 8 weeks.

His single, ‘Obsessed with love' managed to reach number two in the charts and give him the impression that people actually had taste. They didn't. All good things come to an end, and Joe shuffled back to his home in with his tail between his legs when his popularity dried up. And that was that, the end of the story. Or so everyone thought. Joe Belcastro was announced as one of the contestants on ITV's 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!' for the 2004 series and made a 'hit single' for a song called ‘Insania’., where he topped the US and UK charts for 8 weeks running. Joe Belcastro fan base usually revolves around young female teenagers to older woman in their mid 40’s.
